Dear Reader Posted Tuesday at 07:08 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:08 PM I was just now streaming this album and I think it gets very overlooked. It has such good songs and it's probably her last incredible effort. What were your thoughts on it in 2015 and what are your thoughts about it now? 8

Saint James Posted Tuesday at 07:15 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:15 PM how is it overlooked? the album was a success and saved her career. critics liked it, fans love it, it charted well in major markets, had a successful tour, has a meme that is still referenced today. most people consider it her best album, i'd argue pop fans would even call it one of the best of the 2010s. i loved it then but like with most music from those days, i don't listen to it anymore. Gold and CPMD are timeless though, i'll always listen to those on shuffle. CPMD sounds like a hit to me. 5

Not even going "viral" once in a while on twitter like some other albums. Seeing as she was such a Tumblr act and people love nostalgia, it comes as a surprise to me. I think the songs have aged very well, actually.
BlahBlahBlah Posted Tuesday at 07:18 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:18 PM Can't Pin Me Down is that ***** I'll admit I wasn't that big of a fan when it came out because I was on the Electra Heart bandwagon, but it really has grown on me and I think it could easily be considered her best album. 3
Mikeymoonshine Posted Tuesday at 07:22 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:22 PM No but it's great. Electra Heart is her magnum opus imo it has more to say and is more consistent. 1
Musicmajor Posted Tuesday at 07:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:27 PM Froot will forever be a masterpiece I believe. It's one of those albums that just has IT. I remember listening to 'gold' on the way home from work, at a job that I absolutely hated, and it gave me the strength to leave and move on. Also, try listening to Immortal on New Year's Eve, it's so powerful. Electra Heart will forever be my favorite, as it holds the most sentimental value for me, but I will acknowledge that Froot is excellent and there is a reason why it's the fan favorite. 2
Princess Aurora Posted Tuesday at 07:32 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:32 PM It's an underrated album tbh. 1

alexrex Posted Tuesday at 07:39 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:39 PM I really loved this album once it came out. Froot, I'm a Ruin, Savages 🧡 1
vuelve88 Posted Tuesday at 07:43 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:43 PM It has some of my favorite Marina songs, including "Happy", "I'm a Ruin", "Better Than That", and "Weeds". 1
aotwbys Posted Tuesday at 07:53 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:53 PM In 2015 Froot of the Month was the best thing. Gold is still a total banger to this day, it's the only song I regularly listen to from that album now. 2
Zeferino Posted Tuesday at 08:01 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:01 PM (edited) "Blue" saved me literally yesterday it's a cute album, she demonstrated once again she didn't need big names attached to it in order to be successful My faves are: "FROOT", "Blue", "I'm a Ruin", and "Immortal" Edited Tuesday at 08:01 PM by Zeferino 1
Curaga Posted Tuesday at 08:05 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:05 PM I like it, but I wouldn't say it's a masterpiece. Several of the songs (Forget, Weeds, Better Than That) suffer from "the chorus/hook is just the title repeated over and over," even if I still like the songs. It's cool that she wrote all the lyrics herself, but I think the songs could have been elevated by input from co-writers. Top 3: Froot, Immortal, Blue 2
wigglytuffer Posted Tuesday at 08:19 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:19 PM I remember when this was released and it getting #10 in the UK but #8 in the US and being gagged. I think i underestimated the huge goodwill the Electra Heart era did for her in curating a fanbase, she really worked Tumblr so well back then. OT: I think the sound was too much of a departure from the poppy-ness of Electra Heart to be commercially appreciated, but imo features some of her best writing and a solid marketing concept with the album. I really loved and still love Happy, it scratches that sad-girl urge so well 2
Mittens Posted Tuesday at 08:37 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:37 PM Froot, I'm a Ruin and Blue have never left my playlists to this day 1
pavi Posted Tuesday at 08:49 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:49 PM It has some masterpieces on it, but it's not a mastperiece as a whole imo. It's dragged down by some songs that are just good, like Gold, Can't Pin Me Down, and Weeds. I also feel like I lost some interest in songs on this album which I REALLY loved like I'm A Ruin and Immortal, while a lot of her songs on TFJ and EH still live up to ther original masterpiece quality. Still a great album, tho 1
Ewan Chaos Posted Tuesday at 08:56 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:56 PM Yes imo, but totally understand why other people wouldn't think it's specifically a masterpiece. I just got more annoyed at the Electra Heart stans whining about FROOT when it came out, but seems like most of them matured and can be like "eh it's just I liked Electra Heart a lot more." I actually think it's her best album and contains her best song, the title track. I thought the era & tour were super fun too, even though I think era-wise I prefer Electra Heart because it was such a long era and fun to see all the new fans joining the fanbase. My top 5 is probably FROOT, Blue, Savages, Better Than That, and I'm a Ruin. Gold is massively underrated too! I'd rank the rest of the albums like FROOT > The Family Jewels > Electra Heart > Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land >>>>>>> Love + Fear 1
Almodusa Posted Tuesday at 09:01 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:01 PM Love the album, even my least favorite (Gold) grew on me over time 2
