I think she should have made official list

Billboard didn't count her peak at 1999 when she spawn 3 number #1 hits: Gennie, what girl wants & come on over.
Because 1999 not this century. The same way BOMT sales didn't count for Britney's rank at #6.

if Billboard count Xtina first era I'm sure she will be in the top 25 list:foxaylove3:

Dont care for Xtina, but the list isn't great anyway so who cares.

The answer is there:

Why Not Top 25? After 2006's chart-topping Back to Basics, the hits dried up pretty fast: Aguilera never released another totally successful album, and her only major pop successes of the last 15 years have come as features.

https://www.billboard.com/lists/best-pop-stars-21st-century-honorable-mentions/christina-aguilera-8/

Even B2B wasn't a massive success. She objectively has worse stats than the top 25 and even worse than most of the honourable mentions. Pink and Billie Eillish, Alicia etc. all moved more units.

Xtina also has had arguably one of the worst transitions to the streaming era. Less than 2m streams daily across her discography as a lead.

Katy Perry moved way more units, streams and ticket sales in the 21st century and she's only #25.

She lasted like 2.5 eras on her own :deadbanana2:

Because she's not?

As others have said the whole list is a total mess, but Christina kinda vanished from the industry very fast and was too inconsistent, there's no way she would have been included in the Top 25.

She couldn't even if she wanted to.. she can't dance.. in order to dance you need strong legs.  :sistrens:

Billboard has always been questionable and demeaning towards her, even during her peak/popular days so it's not a surprise at all. Also, the bitter ones degrading her as usual.. B2B was a successful album whether you like it or not. It not selling as much as her first 2 doesn't take away from it's impact + it was backed by HER biggest and most grossing world-wide tour as a solo artist. ANOM was a decent hit world-wide and a signature song with its opening. Hurt was HUGE everywhere except the US. Candyman was a big hit in many countries including Australia and the UK. She had 3 impactful eras. Her side projects also did very well - Christmas album, first Latin record and her Greatest Hits (KGB as a single was top 5/10 in many parts of the world) + all 3 sold over 1.5 million copies each - good enough for a GH. Pero Me Acuerdo De Ti remains a huge song in South America. + the fact that she's famous for her vocals + the fact that she has 7 Grammys and even got 2 nominations for a record that had zero impact (Liberation) - certainly based on talent, not the Beyonce way. Let's also not forget how impactful Burlesque was - both movie and soundtrack - a 4th impactful era if you will. All of this + all her smash hit features + her impact on pop culture  in all aspects - voice (DUH), fashion (hello.. CHAPS?), hair (hello - BIG HAIR) and makeup (hello - everyone and their mothers came for her for wearing "too much makeup" and looking like a "drag queen" or a "clown" - today makeup is HUGE and bigger than ever.. It used to be less is more, now it's more is more especially in mainstream - and every single celebrity has farted out a makeup line). Before makeup was even a big thing in mainstream - X was the spokesperson for Fetish and also did a major campaign for MAC. Additionally, a non-impactful artist will not be approached by huge corporate brands such as Coke, Pepsi, Versace, Nintendo, Disney and Mercedes-Benz etc to be their spokesperson or do major projects for them. Stop being bitter towards the woman. It's one thing if you're not a fan, or if you despise/dislike her but don't take her impact on pop culture away from her. Just ask all the famous girlies nowadays - they all stan her. The joke's really on you when you try to belittle her. #RollingStoneFTW #BillboardCanDIAF

Yes because being 5'35 tall is such a drastic difference, and gives you the benefit of having super long legs, than being 5.15 tall. :bibliahh:

Must've been that super powerful Perez Hilton campaign :/

They didn't include her debut era for the most part since the album was released 1 year prior so that probably affected her also, she has been inconsistent with her success, she's had only 2 successful eras in 20 years so...

her stats in US are underwhelming. it's clear she wouldn't get there.

also her debut numbers being cut off (most of them) which is her biggest US era.

Why do you think Christina's legs aren't strong? You should elaborate

The list is stupid. Some of the people mentioned are not even popstars :giraffe:

Perhaps they used ChatGPT me thinks.

When they do the Greatest Popstars of the 21st  Century to Gay Men she'll probably make an appearance with other female popstars who were important for about 5 years to gay men only.

They are sick of her not releasing So Emotional, so that'll show her.

She wasn't big as an artist. She has like 5 hits

She has like 5 hits

1. Genie In A Bottle

2. What A Girl Wants

3. I Turn To You

4. Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)

5. Lady Marmalade

6. Dirrty

7. Beautiful

8. Ain't No Other Man

9. Hurt

10. Moves Like Jagger

11. Feel This Moment

12. Say Something

That's more than 5 hits, plus I didn't even count all her other, smaller hits like Nobody Wants To Be Lonely, Can't Hold Us Down and Fighter. All 3 hits went Top 20 in the US and were bigger hits worldwide. Tell Me, Candyman and Car Wash were other big hits for her, especially in European countries and Ozeania (UK peaks: #4 Car Wash, #8 Tell Me) (AU peaks: #2 Car Wash, #2 Candyman).

So if you want to be fair, those 6 songs are hits as well, which brings Christina's total number of hits to 18.

Not to forget, all her spanish hits in Spain, Latin America and Latin Airplay in the US. Ven Comingo went Top 10 in Spain and #1 on US Latin songs. Pero Me Acuerdo De Ti was a Top 3 hit in Spain and also reached the Top 10 Latin Airplay in the US. Hoy Tengo Ganas De Ti was another successful project in Spain, entering the Top 5 of the Spanish Single charts & the US Latin Airplay as well. That's even 3 more hits for you, this time performed in Spanish. :1stplace:
