No, it was previously 19 on both the US and Canada charts, held by Old Town Road. A Bar Song has already broken the Canadian record (and is predicted to stay for a 24th week at #1 there).

The election ruined the fall quarter, let's be real. Nobody big wanted to release when the headlines would be all about Trump and Kamala. The only "big" releases were people like Katy and people who aren't pop girls. But even then, radio is slower than ever to get rid of songs.

One Sweet day is not iconic to begin with, and not part of Mariah signature songs. It's quite forgettable. Mariah has way more iconic songs that are classic.
