We finally know why so many MPGs released music in 2024 as if they were in a hurry.

We all need a massive and perfect bop like Anywhere.

She was literally held hostage by Roc Nation :rip:

Wait I thought Phoenix was released under a different label? Is that why it took so long for it to come out? :rip:

Yes. She sued Roc Nation and they sued her back in 2016, that had to be settled before she could release anything. Afer that was done she signed with Atlantic

Oh I'm talking about the gap between the release of the lead (Your Song) and the album which was over a year, not the gap between Ora and Phoenix. Well aware of Jay Z's shady tactics

Oh that was actually needed since her music career status was pretty much dead in 2016, on You & I she had a smaller gap between singles and the album - but now she's almost independent so yeah back to 2016 status :skull:

She needs to take the R9 and pop Raye demos for herself and release them. She would benefit alot from Tove Lo, Bonnie McKee, Bebe Rexha and Charli XCX writing camps

she either needs to go back to the Bang sound or Anywhere/Let You Love Me pop smashes. I think she's done commercially regardless since she's independent now but at least give the fans still checking some good bops. Ask was a step in the right direction but still kinda a boring song

while Anywhere was undeniably her biggest bop, ppl forget that the mid-tempos ("Your Song", "Let You Love Me") were the one with longetivity on that album

I thought "You & I" was a right move from her, she should have pushed that as a single.

If I were an A&R, I would suggest she makes something similar to Kylie's "Body Language" - which is mostly mid-tempo but still dance, sensual & sophisticated

she needs to sign to a major again if she wants to seriously pursue music again and for it to be heard.

she won't gain anything from being at BMG, unlike Kylie which has a dedicated fanbase

She has to put out some of the unreleased songs from You & I, cause some of them are fire
