Marla Singer Posted November 10 Posted November 10 We finally know why so many MPGs released music in 2024 as if they were in a hurry. 2 4
Movimento Perpétuo Posted November 10 Posted November 10 We all need a massive and perfect bop like Anywhere. 5

She sued Roc Nation and they sued her back in 2016, that had to be settled before she could release anything. Afer that was done she signed with Atlantic 2

Afer that was done she signed with Atlantic Oh I'm talking about the gap between the release of the lead (Your Song) and the album which was over a year, not the gap between Ora and Phoenix. Well aware of Jay Z's shady tactics

Well aware of Jay Z's shady tactics Oh that was actually needed since her music career status was pretty much dead in 2016, on You & I she had a smaller gap between singles and the album - but now she's almost independent so yeah back to 2016 status 1
SchmoodRing Posted November 11 Posted November 11 She needs to take the R9 and pop Raye demos for herself and release them. She would benefit alot from Tove Lo, Bonnie McKee, Bebe Rexha and Charli XCX writing camps 1
Scandalous Posted November 11 Posted November 11 she either needs to go back to the Bang sound or Anywhere/Let You Love Me pop smashes. I think she's done commercially regardless since she's independent now but at least give the fans still checking some good bops. Ask was a step in the right direction but still kinda a boring song 3
reymiu Posted November 11 Posted November 11 while Anywhere was undeniably her biggest bop, ppl forget that the mid-tempos ("Your Song", "Let You Love Me") were the one with longetivity on that album I thought "You & I" was a right move from her, she should have pushed that as a single. If I were an A&R, I would suggest she makes something similar to Kylie's "Body Language" - which is mostly mid-tempo but still dance, sensual & sophisticated 3
Nashe Posted November 11 Posted November 11 she needs to sign to a major again if she wants to seriously pursue music again and for it to be heard. she won't gain anything from being at BMG, unlike Kylie which has a dedicated fanbase 2
sam.teas Posted November 11 Posted November 11 She has to put out some of the unreleased songs from You & I, cause some of them are fire 1
Junho_lover Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Her last album was not it, I hope she goes back to Pheonix quality or better? Please. 1

Because ya shading her is annoying. She can actually sing and is great live. What is the issue other than her not having mainstream success? Put some effort into this, Rita. If she was smart she would take the scrapped LostBoy tracks from the Tension 2 sessions and release them as her own asap On 11/10/2024 at 12:21 PM, glitch said: It's kinda crazy how she dropped her lead single in May and it's been crickets since. Where's the follow up? April is still a while away She's released collabs and that was just a droplet

Even Praise You, that was performed at the Eurovision, flopped massively. She's independent now. Has been inconsistent with her releases because of issues behind the scenes. Roc Nation limbo. Then Warner/Atlantic and her parting ways. And on top of that she stays busy with TV shows and movies. As long as the music is good why are ya so chart obsessed with stats? On 11/10/2024 at 1:16 PM, prézli said: Unfortunately, she's unable to evolve, get her own style, be authentic. She's like a mini Katy Perry. Unable to evolve? None of Rita's albums sound alike. She's not like Katy Perry nor was their a need to make that unnecessary comparison and insert that drag. Both women are doing more than fine. Rita's downfalls are inconsistency and lack of focus on solely just music. On 11/10/2024 at 2:09 PM, Princess Aurora said: She should make a song with Kylie Minogue tbh This would eat. Record Night Owl as a duet asap On 11/10/2024 at 3:09 PM, paper moon said: Hope she has another RAYE scrap up her sleeve. Ask was a certified bop. She needs to hit up Raye asap and release Crash, I Surrender, Simple, Good Good, Aha, Fantastic, C'est La Vie, Born Again as her own songs asap On 11/10/2024 at 3:13 PM, Nashe said: hopefully that "something people won't expect" is true and real, not just something she made up in the moment again. she needs to evolve and deliver something artistically interesting again, like she did with the Bang EP. She won't ever chart well again, unless she signs to a major label. That's for sure... She might as well take and release the R9 scraps for herself lol 2

Her latest song was released in May (to be a summer hit ) and the video was directed by her hubby. She's literally admitted herself that as long as she gets to release the music that she makes she's more than happy with that. Which alludes to her struggles with labels and politics behind the scenes
