Why Beyonce's Cowboy Carter WON'T win AOTY

I'll be honest - I've never understood this particular criticism of Beyoncé's work.

The singular, unified vision and concept for the bodies of work she creates are still clearly there. Grammy voters aren't (or shouldn't be, anyway) rating the amount of that vision that was solely and exclusively executed upon by the artist with lead billing - they're rating the final product itself. There could be a thousand people on an album that still deserves, due to its quality and its impact on listeners, to win AOTY.

Thank you. I'm gonna go stream cruel summer because of this comment. It should've won song of the year.

doesn't she have the highest amount of grammys for a woman?

For any artist, man or woman, and why that AOTY shouldn't even matter at this point :rip:

Would it be a nice bow to tie up her accolades with, sure. But given she's the most decorated artist by that academy, it really isn't that important at all.

Won in predominantly "black categories", yes.

When put in categories against white folks, she pretty much always loses.

Ignore them, they know. It's cos it's Beyonce.

How does Andre's instrumental album have songwriters? :skull:

Because you write music before you can arrange it. Songwriter not only means writing lyrics (words) but also the literal composition (music notes)

So someone wrote the music so others can recreate them later in an orchester or whatever instrument of their choice.
