TipToe Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 It's curious to see how fast she developed haters, most pop gurls gradually transit from a "honeymoon" phase with the geepee to stages where negativity becomes too obvious. It usually take more than one (1) era to happen and she's living all this in less than a year Maybe if she wasn't constantly complaining her success/popularity could be way bigger at the moment, oh well. 1
Truth Teller Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Chappel is super unlikeable but also completely correct. The stan mentality has gone completely out of control. And it's kind of justified because the industry is so out of healthier ways to make money that they keep entertaining the parasocial, vicarious relationships between fans and artists for profit. For what other reason would someone buy 4 copies of the same album, spend $60 for a special signed vinyl or rush to buy $450 tickets for a tour if they didn't think those things make them "special" and connect them to the artist? Sure, there's people who are collectors or people who are just rich and don't care or people who are generally passionate about music and splurge either way but the vast majority of big spenders that are currently fueling the industry are ******* weirdos that should be invited to therapy sessions instead of streaming parties. Case in point, why wait for hours in the freezing cold outside of a taping you don't even have a ticket to, stalking someone who is performing inside, waiting for them to step out so that you can ask them for a selfie or an autograph? They just want to get to their car and leave babes. And as the industry depends more and more on people like that, artists like Chappel who are unafraid to look like absolute cvnts in order to set proper boundaries and ensure their private space are vital. We need rappers like her. We need rappers like her. 2
Popboi. Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 The forced attempt to get a reaction out of her, maybe she was right all along.
Bad_vocal_technique Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 People's parasocial relationship with artists is utterly bizarre. They owe you nothing. Go hug your parents or friends instead. 1

Jay07 Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 It was probably someone trying to get a reaction out of her to get a viral video. That said, she has opened herself up to this by demonstrating that she can be baited into acting unprofessionally. 2 1
Flare Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 No shade, she deserves this. I can only imagine the reactions if it were Beyonce, Gaga, Nicki, Rihanna, Cardi, Ariana, etc. who treated their fans as poorly as she does when their careers first started. Demi Lovato had some messy moments but at least there was valid reasons (mental issues and drugs), what is Ms.Roan's excuse for poor behavior? 1 1 2
swissman Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 These people are so annoying. How are you a fan but don't know that she's not the type to go greet fans on her way out of the building, and THEN fault HER for the fact that you've been camping there for hours and are mad about it? That's all on you. She's given absolutely NO indication that she's the type that will be doing this, so it's really your fault, not her's. She's been quite clear on her stance. Why have you ignored it? 3
VerdantHue Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 This is disgusting behavior and is a prime example of misogyny. You gay men aren't exempt from that just because you are gay. 2

dawnettakins Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Oh the backlash has already begun I see! Can't say I'm surprised, she's brought it on herself tbh. 1

NEUTRON Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 "how are we supposed to be fans and you're not even nice?" Points were made 🤷🏽♂️ Usually in the beginning artists are normally happy to interact and connect with fans. 1
