How to be less chronically online?

Recommended Posts

How do you pass time without watching TikTok videos in bed?

How do you entertain yourself while waiting for the train without scrolling through Instagram?

How do you avoid getting bored during a walk without listening to podcast?

How do you stay educated without reading opinions on ATRL on the latest events?

What are alternative hobbies and ways to spend your time besides being online? I need to touch grass.

Stan a lazy pop girl like Ava Max, that way, there's nothing to follow or be online for. It's freeing. You can live your life in acceptance of the floppery.

you could put your phone in one of those timed lock box things

or even simpler, just turn it off, set it on the side of the room and put a sticky note on it so you don't pick it up absent-mindedly. that's what i do when i need to lock in for exams

1. Don't use Tiktok never will. I always watch anime, read books or just sleep

2. Listen to YouTube music

3. I don't listen to podcast and I don't walk. Walking where I'm from is a nightmare

4. Google pop ups

5. Spend time with my friends and former workers at the mall or their house every other weekend

I even blocked her on Instagram as a revenge for neglecting us so I don't have to use this app

I do 50 minute yoga routine, 35 minute breathing techniques and then 30 minute meditation. I also really like cleaning around the house.

  1. Job
  2. Hobbies
  3. Delete Tiktok because it's bad for your mental health and propaganda
  4. Read books

Listen to music, cook, read a book, work out, meet friends, watch a movie, play a video game.. there's so many other options than scrolling online for hours :rip:

What helped me the most was cutting what was removing addiction to a game I used to play all the time and just idled there, and reprioritizing the gym which was always important to me, but it was the number 1 hobby above all before I was more chronically online. If you have a hobby you had before that like that where you put it in the backseat, then that could help. I also try to just get out even if it means I drive to a mall and walk around for steps or something.
