Are they friends? I thought she wrote a lyric about Taylor in Sympathy Is A Knife and Taylor blocked her on the Billboard 200. 

 

My guess is it stems from the messy Billboard 200 stan war and the fact that outside of their fandoms BRAT made more noise culturally.

Swifties gentrified the fandom and thought they were owed a collab for some reason, angels said they don't want it, then the track list came out and they stopped fake stanning and turning on her instead and accused her of making fun of that attempted terrorist attack by having a Dave LaChapelle photoshoot where she's a bloody doll wearing a friendship bracelet etc. etc. It was all very shocking and nasty.

Swifties (and Angels) think Sympathy is a diss track (it's not), Angels think Taylor blocked Charli from having a #1 album (she didn't), both fandoms are generally illiterate. It's a lot tbh.

The Little Xboxes have been mad at Taylor and joking about murdering her ever since she blocked Brat from debuting at #1 in the UK, just like they've been body-shaming towards Jelly Roll since he debuted at #1 over the Brat Deluxe and called out Charli's teams fraudulent attempts to get it to #1 (all of this while pretending that neither they or their fave cares about charts)

That being said, this is one of those "beefs" being almost entirely exacerbated by teenagers and ppl who spend too much time on twitter, and the majority of people in both fandkm who leave the house regularly aren't actually partaking in any of this.

why am I just tonight, after being a fan of hers since 2013 and having seen her twice in concert (2014 and 2019), learning that our fanbase is called "angelz"  I genuinely did not know we had a title I thought we were just Charli xcx fans

I lowkey think some swifties are butthurt that TTPD wasn't well received and forgotten by everyone besides the fandom (although she got hella noms today so it's not really true) and are envious that Charli has this super acclaimed album that captured the zeitgeist. Deep down they know critical acclaim is more respected and likeable than chart records that no one besides stans check for. And with all these new pop girls blowing up this year, TTPD getting buried by the gp has them feeling like they're missing out on the party I guess.

Both fanbases have been overpowered by bandwagon fans who're attracted to Taylor & Charli for polar opposite reasons. It's so corny. The "brats" are contrarians and can't stand Taylor bc she's too "normie", Taylor's success stans would never **** with somebody who is by nature not a clean cut star with universal appeal & accessibility. These types of ppl need to chill tf out tbh
