SoldierofLove Posted November 9 Posted November 9 In 2023, Beyoncé made history when she became the most decorated artist in Grammy history — but her complicated relationship with the Recording Academy dates back more than two decades. At the turn of the millennium, the superstar scored her first set of nods as part of Destiny's Child, after which she'd continue to steadily rack up double-digit wins and even more nominations following her stunning solo debut in 2003. When she made history exactly 20 years later by securing her 32nd win (for best dance/electronic recording for Billboard Hot 100-topping single "Break My Soul"), she surpassed late classical conductor Sir Georg Solti's previous record to become the artist with the most wins of all time. Even so, the title of "Grammy darling" doesn't quite fit Beyoncé. Despite her staggering run with the award show, the academy has famously under-recognized her in its major three categories: album, record and song of the year. At the time of her historic 32nd win in 2023, she'd only ever won in one of those divisions to date, having taken home song of the year over a decade prior for "Single Ladies" in 2010. Even so, Beyoncé remains one of the Recording Academy's biggest success stories. To celebrate, Billboard has compiled a complete chronology of every single one of her Grammy nods — a list that only seems to get bigger each year, so keep checking back every nomination season for updates. From 2000 to now, see every time Bey has been up for a golden gramophone — and whether she won or not — below. https://www.billboard.com/lists/all-beyonce-grammy-nominations/ No wins for The Writing's On The Wall and Destiny Fulfilled eras is a crime! 2 3
Antisocialites Posted November 9 Posted November 9 (edited) people wanna be mad that she submits in different genres categories but it's not her fault and speaks volumes of her artistry that all of her albums post-4 have showed incredible diversity in the soundscape while also being tied to one theme/concept that runs throughout the whole album. that's how you do cohesiveness while still sounding fresh and engaging. HeavyMetalAura Posted November 9 Posted November 9 It's wild that she is the MOST celebrated artist in Grammy history but a sizable-enough portion of her fanbase insists the Grammys as an organization hate her or are racist toward her because she hasn't one a few particular categories and I say this with no shade to Bey, Ren and CC are two of my top 3 fave albums of the decade. It's just wild. Anyway, she deserves every one of those noms a true visionary 1
Pepo Posted November 9 Posted November 9 I don't see the Grammy for Love On Top. They forgot to include it.

It's the music community who votes.

Several of her predecessors were the most nominated/awarded at other major award shows in their day but no one made a peep. Barely anyone protested. There was little to no discourse. No one had anything to say but when it comes to Beyoncé and these Grammys, **** feels like WW3 at times lol Mind you, this woman is now a 27 year industry veteran and set that Grammys record in year 26. Her predecessors set their record total wins when they were still relatively young, before they were considered true legends. This could very well just be just a synthesis of everyone's flopinions and commentary seeming so loud because of the internet now but it's quite inch resting. 1
Mendussy Posted November 9 Posted November 9 I hope she gets 99 more. It's wild how much it bothers some people 1

alexrex Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Yet other excellent artists keep getting ignored by the academy. It's just ridiculous at this point, yet she has the nerve to complain about not getting AOTY. 1

Beyoncé isn't responsible for voters not nominating other artists or albums, so conflating those two arguments is pointless. There's valid discourse around Beyoncé's lack of AOTY and for black women in general. She's allowed to discuss her feelings towards her own nominations...

And most of the discourse isn't even coming from HER? Everyone else is bemoaning her lack of A-O-T-Y, but Queen just keeps it moving and churning out them masterpieces. 3
