Especially with Trump winning the popular vote, do you see more celebrities coming out of the woodworks to publicly support him?

I've also seen a lot of concerning comments saying they're the majority and we shouldn't be mean to them or speak against them anymore.

Is Trump about to get even more normalized in the media?

Is Melania gonna become the next Jackie O?

Any celebrity with a decent PR team knows the risks of publicly supporting Trump. He's unpredictable and walking that support back would be even more damaging.

This is why almost all pop girls came out in support of Kamala, whether they truly voted for her or not. It's all for PR. People need to wake up.

Nah. I don't think anybody cares, maybe some irrelevant C-List people

Exactly. they reduced Kamala appeal by endorsing her, I don't trust these girls with a secret agenda anymore. IMG_0629.thumb.gif.8025cf1c21c6ba532fe66

How would it even be a risk at this point given that more than half of the country voted for him? You're acting as if republicans are allergic to music.

I hope they do. I don't want them to have my support or gay euros.

It depends on how much it would harm their bank account. If your fans are mostly LGBTQ people or people of color whose rights are threatened, it may not be a good idea to endorse Trump. But if your fans are mostly straight and white, then have at it.

maybe not publicly, but there would be hints; like if Lana's next album includes something called "Fanta Zero" :deadbanana2:

Yes. I think people are good at compartmentalizing, and many people in Hollywood and Silicon Valley are hopeful about some of this administration's possible policies on taxes, crypto, and free market capitalism - while still opposing his other policies.

Obviously a lot of celebrities are Secretly right-wing, but it's too risky to come out. The media attention is overwhelmingly negative if you do.

When a Republican stans a left-wing pop star who makes a political social media post, they say "Stay out of politics. Go back to the studio, all we want from you is music".

When a Democrat stans a right-wing pop star who comes out, they say "You are evil, I am never listening to you ever again, radio should ban you".

It's obvious which choice is less risky.

Republicans can stan Taylor Swift for example, because they either assume she's lying to avoid backlash, or they assume she's been paid to come out as Democrat, or blackmailed to do it. The worldview of Trump voters is that most celebrities are puppets being told what to do by "the elites". So 99% of celebrities being Democrats actually just reinforces their worldview and further convinces them that celebrities really are puppets being controlled behind the scenes.

The way I see it, the risk is that nobody knows what actions he's going to take in the next 4 years. He's unpredictable and might do things that are considered widly unpopular regardless of how many votes he got this week.

For that reason, any PR person would ask their client to stay quiet.

The new trend will probably be just to say that you want to "stay out of politics and focus on bringing the people joy with your art" or something, neither supporting Trump nor any Democrats too vocally
