dawnettakins Posted November 8 Posted November 8 (edited) Former President Donald Trump's transition back into the White House is likely to be influenced by American First Policy Institute, as reports ahead of the election suggested the right-wing policy group appears to be providing Trump with policy suggestions—rather than the Project 2025 agenda that's garnered more scrutiny. America First Policy Institute is a right-leaning think tank dedicated to "advanc[ing] policies" that are in line with conservative values, which has crafted its own policy agenda that it describes as a "plan for establishing policies that keep America first, always." Publications including Politico and The New York Times reported before the election that the group became the Trump campaign's "primary partner" in crafting plans for a second Trump presidency, proposing hundreds of executive orders that Trump can implement and meeting with lobbyists who want to influence a second Trump term. America First's agenda is overall less extreme than Project 2025, which proposes a drastic overhaul of the executive branch... https://www.forbes.com/sites/alisondurkee/2024/11/06/america-first-agenda-what-to-know-about-the-project-2025-alternative-reportedly-behind-trump-transition/ ----------------- What happened? We were all promised Project 2025. Had all this fearmongering about Project 2025 only for him NOT to even run with or do it. Sure, this agenda still includes terrible, disastrous and gamechanging policies, but not Project 2025 as promised. The Heritage Foundation wrote Project 2025, not this group. But this is Trump and Republicans we're talking about so what do you expect, they're gonna do what they do. Thoughts? Edited November 8 by dawnettakins 5

That was written vaguely on purpose so they could figure out ways they could get around it without starting riots and outright chaos. He's still going to pass the same extreme ideas
EnigmaticAndroid Posted November 8 Posted November 8 (edited) In all reality Trump is Trump and will do whatever the hell he wants to, think tanks be damned. Edited November 8 by EnigmaticAndroid 7
TROPICUM Posted November 8 Posted November 8 this helps my theory that trump is a power obsessed selfish pig man who simply loves to be surrounded by powerful people and to always be the most powerful person in the room …but he has some very frail and tiny bit of common sense deep inside. kinda like the surprisingly centre-leaning campaign he did in the 2000s. he will never do something for others unless it helps him with his own context. he is his own god and cult leader, and that will make the evangelicals pressed …now JD Vance on the other hand…. 4
Letters From Adi Posted November 8 Posted November 8 He's not that dumb enough to implement all of it as it will cause reverse polarisation in 2028
Bethenny Frankel Posted November 8 Posted November 8 he's going to do a lot of it just under another name 1

anastaciabby Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Certain people trying to make soft of this and this man is crazy. This isn't anything new, he just found ways around the things he would be doing so they appear as "legal" If he outright did the things he promised he would have outright chaos and they sure as hell don't want to lose support that quick 1
Minto Posted November 8 Posted November 8 he was just appealing to his base with a nice load of sweet nothings…. he knows it's not possible to do half the things that stupid list included
PrettyHurts Posted November 8 Posted November 8 Trump's plan is smarter than we realize. He will not implement project 2025's policies right away, but slowly over time. He will also find a way to extend his presidency or make sure MAGA continues with another candidate 1
