Gotham's most notorious villain creeped its way to streaming sooner than expected. "Joker: Folie á Deux" became available to watch from home starting Oct. 29, less than a month after its theatrical release.

The film is now available to rent/buy on digital platforms such as Prime Video and Apple TV.

that's life, we'll get over it. tho i have the feeling this film will have its justice sometime in the future.

I am sure, they need to re release it like Morbius. It's fading time!

Is anyone really surprised tho?

How are you differentiating it from an actual release to streaming services if you call that a streaming release, then? :bird:

Can someone not trolling actually reply to my genuine question on why we should call that a streaming release rather than a digital release and how to differentiate it from a release to streaming platforms if that's the case? :bird:

Premium Video on Demand (PVOD) is an over-the-top (OTT) media distribution model where Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) subscribers pay a one-time fee (in addition to their monthly subscription dues) for early access to stream new premium content, especially highly-anticipated or high-budget films.

Hope that helps. :bird:

So you have to be subscribed in order to be allowed to THEN pay to view the movie? Never used those so I thought they actually were available to anyone - even free members - like a classic digital release but just using streaming platforms for visibility. :deadbanana2:

Big budget NEW movies aren't free with prime subscriptions. Customers have to pay extra to rent or buy the movie, and they do buy them considering they made Alien Romulus, Deadpool/Wolverine, and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice #1 hits on the service. Everyone is avoiding Joker FAD like the plague and there's a good reason for that.

Damn. It's awful for sure but I actually thought it'd do good in streaming.

Can you please stop twisting my words to fit your strange fagcel narrative? You already did it by claiming I said "Amazon Prime is not relevant/doesn't count" and you're not bringing anything to the table, nor replying to my questions. I asked a genuine question about release terminology and its functioning; I'm not here to defend the flop that JFAD is, so count me out if you're trying to add anything to your "wheel of excuses" or whatever helps you sleep at night. :bird:

:rip: As if this word salad is a valuable contribution to the discussion.

You literally went from telling us "It's not on streaming services" to having the facts thrown back in your face.

Now you're getting personal and floundering like a fish out of water looking for excuses to justify why it's failing. The GP rejected it in the threatres, just like they're doing now, and they will keep saying no until this epic disaster of a movie is dead and buried.
