There has been country inspired dance music around for ages though. Avicii was not the first.

Never did I suggest he was! OP says the genre will "dominate," I'm not speaking on whether not it's been invented already but whether or not it dominated. Feel like it was a trend for some time but that song kicked off the shift

Right it already happened 10 years ago. But I guess music trends are like a pendulum they come back every once in a decade or so
