Xtina23 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Ohhhhhhhh it's Destiny's Child for me! That got my vote! mmhmmm 1 1
Alldeezy Posted November 4 Posted November 4 DC Girls Aloud is my all time fave girl group along side The Saturdays. Spice Girls are my childhood .. little kid me loved them and Sugababes are iconic 1 2
ONOPKA Posted November 4 Posted November 4 sugababes and it isn't even close anyone voting GA has ZERO taste. 1 2
sunbathinganimal Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Spice Girls or Sugababes K bye for now, Sunshine. <3
J-esper Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Bye Girls Aloud All 3 other groups made an impact on me while growing up 1
Unreachable101 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 I'd get rid of the newly reformed sugababes line up. spice girls > DC > subababes with Heidi > girls aloud > new sugababes line up 1
Harrier Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Honestly in terms of discography it's got to be the Spice Girls, the other three are kind of superior in that department Overall legacy tho, Sugababes Girls Aloud only winning because Americans don't know them. Their music is too good. Iykyk 3
davidson Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Girls Aloud are out for me. I don't feel attached to this group as I am to other ones. 1. Sugababes 2. Spice Girls 3. Destiny's Child 4. Girls Aloud. 1
Dante Silva Posted November 4 Posted November 4 (edited) The U.S. bias is yawn inducing. It's embarrassing that on a pop culture site that the group with the most bops is rated last. Edited November 4 by Dante Silva 5
SpaceOddity Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Girls Aloud have the most adventurous forward-thinking no filler discography out of them all. Perfectly crafted genius pop bangers, the fact that most of you voted for them out as opposed to the cheesy and outdated Spice Girls is mind blowing. 1 1 1

Pheromosa Posted November 4 Posted November 4 I don't know a single song from sugarbabes and girls aloud so delete them both 1
Charmed Life Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Girls Aloud. Can't stand any of them apart from Nadine. 1
Blur Posted November 4 Posted November 4 (edited) It's crazy how "pop-phobic" this forum has become. The Spice Girls were the epitome of fun, accessible quality pop music. Excluding The Supremes, no girl group can boast so much influence (SG also edge them out a bit, success wise). Being a contrarian doesn't give you more authority + Pop music is not a bad word and literally built this forum from the ground. As for the groups mentioned here, there is a revisionist at play with Beyoncé's career changing the perspective on "Destiny's Child". Honestly, their singles are even a bit dated, which doesn't mean they're not good/catchy most of the time. In fact, the real problem is their albums, that had too many fillers. TLC's and En Vogue's are much more enjoyable, in so many ways. I should listen to more Girls Aloud songs because I Ioved "Can't Speak French" and "Biology". Sugababes, well I still listen to "Freak Like Me", that one was super influential for the Mashup craze of the 00s, mixing Adina Howard and Gary Numan. Come to think of it, I understand why DC are lacking, even if I liked their singles growing up. There are the only group, who didn't break new grounds, in significant ways, musically speaking (the rap-talk singing was already done by people like Mariah and Brandy, for example + female empowerment messages was perfected by TLC and SG). GA and Sugababes were pretty edgy/forward thinking, in ways we were not used to at the time. As for, The Spice Girls they reinvented a perfect recipe, not seen since ABBA, of quality, layered pop anthems that remained accessible from kids, to teens to young adults. Not an easy feat AT ALL coming from the anti-pop grunge era (whose effects can still be seen on threads, such as this one) ! Also, they wrote the book on how you market a girl group worldwide and became marketing giants before it was cool to do so (and got a lot of flack for it). All the girl groups after them should thank them for how trailblazing they were (like DC did, telling Emma and Victoria they were fans of them at an EMA red carpet, the video is on YouTube). mike_int Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Regarding Spice Girl, It is crazy there is only 2 years between Spice Girl's first single "Wannabe" (June 1996) and their last single as full group "Viva Forever" (July 1998) The impact and success they had with two albums within 2 years. WOW!

(Try watching the first five videos below, they are considered the band's biggest hits. However what made then really stand out is their bratty attitude, coupled with slightly edgier, darker pop music - which the last 3 videos captured really well, and what make Sugababes truly distinct ) Oh, and Mutya's husky voice is truly chef's kiss. Bookmark99 Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Girls Aloud. Sugababes is better than the Spice Girls. Their album One Touch is extremely underrated. 1
ICLDXU4HS Posted November 4 Posted November 4 I had a phase in the early 2010s where I tried to force myself to stan Girls Aloud because they're so acclaimed in pretentious pop circles and honestly, barely anything stuck with me in the long run. I can admit that they have some really forward thinking and innovative pop music, but they also have the worst individual members (lots of mediocre voices and tones) and their overall vibe is just kinda frumpy and uncool to me, Idk. For me it's DC > Sugababes >>> Spice Girls >>>>>> GA 1
