The difference is that politicians get ELECTED every 4 years.

nobody voted for this assh*ole.

Even if we held a referendum people would likely vote to keep the monarchy (given the current political situation)

Also he's not an assh*le, his dad was but he has done nothing wrong.

You live in a whole different world. Spaniards are strongly republican. That's why they will never hold a referendum.

they targetted everyone but it's true that the president of valencia region was behind the King so it's likely that some mud went for him as well.

They were throwing mud at him directly. Stop defending this motherfucker and his rat looking wife.

Also not like any of you foreigners know the situation here better than locals. Maybe clean the dirt at home before lecturing others.

We have a monarchy for a reason, and like most monarchies in Europe they have social support. There were people who threw stuff at the King but also many who were willing to talk to him and the Queen and rejected the attacks.

Just because you don't like someone doesn't give you justification to insult them. "rat looking wife" well many magazines acclaim her fashion sense so :giraffe:

and many more clips of the Queen and King talking to people civilizedly if you look them up.

There were many kinds of people there.

The different is a monarch is trained for all their life to do the job of being a monarch whereas a president can be literally anyone with any (or none) qualification.

This phrase becomes hilarious when you remember the sheer ammount of scandals the Spanish, British and Liechtensteiner monarchies/principalities are involved in. :ahh:

"trained for life" fhdgdhh

Every.single.person I know. Spain was never supposed to be a monarchy. You are either a right winger or work for the military/police forces judging by those out of touch delusional comments.

I'm Spanish as well, and I highly doubt the majority of people want the monarchy :rip:

The fair thing would be to AT LEAST hold a referendum. Please explain me why that's not a even possibility, whatever the result would be.

Plus, I'm not a fan of politicians at all, but if you're gonna compare, they do waaaaaaaaay more stuff than the king and queen. Most of them even had to work for a living and continue to do so. What do the king and the queen on a daily basis? How are they earning their living?

And I think they're nice, I don't have anything against them as human beings. But, even if they held their own in Valencia, travelling there to give some hugs DOES nothing. Pick up a shovel and help, or let me tell you what, donate some of the millions and millions of euros you have.

Prove me wrong.

Okay then…

You have a monarchy because… *checks notes* …God assigned some guy to be his representative and to rule over a certain territory???

Never thought I'd see people argue in favor of the Divine Right to Rule™, but here we are. :rip:

Those Scandals are attribued to pariah Juan Carlos I, we don't talk about him. He's a [redacted] who deserves what he's gotten. You reap what you sow.

He did Queen Sofía dirty.
