KatyPrismSpirit Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) The Grammy nominations will be announced in exactly one week on November 8th. Do you have any "surprise" or left-field nomination predictions? For me: - Unexpected Gracie Abrams nomination in SOTY for "I Love You, I'm Sorry" - Ariana Grande not present in ROTY, SOTY (she gets snubbed) - Doechii in Best Rap Album - Beyoncé not nominated for Best Country Album What about you? Mezik Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I really think Taylor's only getting nominations for Pop Vocal Album and Pop Duo/Group Performance. OR... I can see The Eras Tours Taylors Version being the only nomination she gets. REGARDLESS, to me it would not be surprising if she gets less than 3.. but I know the media will spin it as a "huge shock". 3
NewStanner Posted November 1 Posted November 1 143 AOTY Lifetimes SOTY, ROTY I'm His, He's Mine Best Pop Collab 7

James_Joint Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I predict either Charli, Chappell, or Sabrina is going to get snubbed with 0 nominations

Jack! Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) I don't see Charli taking as many nominations as people expect. She'll get dance record and immersive album but I struggle to see her getting into the big 4 space at the expense of other pop artists this year. She's spoken poorly of the Grammys in the past too so doesn't always go in your favour. Important to note with the main categories they're not pop categories. They're often pop dominated but they'll snub otherwise popular pop submissions to make room for other genres in the A/R/SOTY categories. Sadly I see Charli taking the brunt of that. This isn't a nominations take, but I don't think Chappell will take BNA. They'll give it to Sabrina. Edited November 1 by Jack! 1

They will definitely nom all the big names to get ratings.
Green Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I have a feeling that Gracie Abrams will be nominated for AOTY 3
Augmented Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Houdini getting a (deserved) nomination would be a huge surprise at this point 3
OrgVisual Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I'm not surprised at all if Gracie has noms. She fits Grammy's voting demographics to a T 2
YouSmellLikeHospital Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I'm radically optimistic that something from Radical Optimism will get a nomination 1
Fleahive Posted November 2 Posted November 2 (edited) Beyoncé will only get a few noms this year. She's normally the most nominated with her album cycles. Best album, song, Americana album, and maybe one of the country duo noms. Country, rap, and r&b categories will shut her out this year. Edited November 2 by Fleahive
Letemtalk Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Gracie Abrams in AOTY, might appear elsewhere. - alphabetical order placement on the voting forms. - #1 UK, #2 US, high chart positions on other national charts. - Taylor Swift collaboration, Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff and also Justin Vernon credits for instruments and background vocals. - She has credits for playing instruments on the album and she plays instruments in her live shows, and for a lot of Grammy voters, this means "real musician". - family connections can help you in awards season. 2

She fits Grammy's voting demographics to a T Not to mention she was nominated for Best New Artist last year over PinkPantheress, RAYE, and Peso Pluma, who all had a much stronger presence in 2023. She has a Grammy-friendly sound, industry connections, and her name is very high on the ballot. Definitely helps that "I Love You, I'm Sorry" started gaining big momentum during these crucial months of the voting period, so it should be fresh on voters' minds. Wouldn't be surprised if she overperforms on the nominations either.
