I mean the show ended in 2012. Selena went on to have a decent music career and is currently doing other projects (including Only Murders In the Building). David's career has been nowhere near as big, and yet he's definitely acting like he's better than Dan for not being an adult entertainer. I get that Dan went through trauma so he took control of it. It still of course was going to affect his acting career later on. 

 

I watched the first episode of the reboot and while I see ideas of a decent show, Alex was the best part of the pilot and she isn't even a lead star. Selena's charisma really brought Alex to life which is why she's able to play a similar character very well on Only Murders In the Building. I feel like David and Selena are trying to go for more "Fuller House" vibes combined with Raven's Home given the new cast, but with Justin as the only returning cast member full time I don't see how this reboot will last that long. Billie is basically a redux of Alex and while Janice definitely seems to have the charisma to make Billie her own character, filling the shoes of an iconic Disney Channel character is going to be tough. The actress who plays Justin's wife is probably the only other person in the cast that seems to have enough personality to be interesting - so like the Tanya, Teresa, Amy of the cast. 

 

Again, Dan will be fine because he makes more on OF. David just needs to focus on making the show better because Zeke not appearing is the least of his worries frankly.
