Maybe. He says he understands why he wouldn't be called to do something like that, but at the same time he jokes a lot on his socials about his past on the show, so deep down I feel like he's hurt. However, that was a choice he made, so there are consequences, and this is one.

As I said before, I think David should've played it cooler, but I felt like his reaction was a form of backlashing the quiz which was responsible to bring Zeke up in the first place, or else this wouldn't even have happened.

Unironically, he's right. Alex and Justin basically ruined the show with how terrible and insufferable their characters became(yes the writing was also trash.)

 

The new show is HORRIBLE. 1st episode was enough suffering for me. No harper(even a mention?) or Zeke is criminal. Teresa's messy ass too. Suffice to say besides Max and the supporting cast, wizards ended on a BAD note, not a good one.

Yep. Hence the show ending badly. Most rewarded, undeserving protagonist in modern Disney history. And I'm an Alex fan.

he's basically saying "I didn't want to do this, I had to because of trauma! I wouldn't have otherwise!"... like, ok? I would have respected you even if it was your want

I think he articulated his point badly. I think he was trying to say that the stars of the show were pushed in the industry and were able to get more acting work and received larger paychecks. However, the side characters were kind of stuck as being known as children show bit characters, and the only way he could parlay his level of fame to make money was OF.

 

I don't know that I agree that OF was his only choice but I get why he did it. and he did spill that it is scummy for Disney to turn their back on a lot of the original actors. Selena and David who already got the most benefit off of being the stars, kind of left their coworkers in the dust which probably feel shitty because the same thing happened to them when the original show ended.

The truth is, this revival shouldn't even be happening. Instead of bringing back old shows, Disney should focus on creating fresh ideas and new characters. "Wizards" hasn't been off the air for long, and I'm just exhausted by former child actors trying to regain their fame. 

 

There's a reason Selena isn't a regular—she's busy with her career and this is an obvious downgrade—unlike David, this guy, and the other two who are doing their podcast. David doesn't have higher ground here. Rebooting a show like this feels like returning to your small hometown after college, hoping to make it in the big city but ending up back where you started.

Selena only made this happen since David, Todd and probably Disney too have been begging her to do this for years. She also is financially helping this reboot. She is not a regular here because it would be a step down in her career and she doesn't want to be associated with Alex Russo as her only possible character. She is not singing the theme either since she is an Interscope artist and not a Hollywood records artist anymore

Except it's not the same thing at all. Posting a photo or being topless in a film is not the same as a full blown porn career, where your image and income is under the control of the OnlyFans owners and stakeholders.

The intent is right but the message is not. 
 

Sex work is work. You don't need to be  victim or exploited to be in porn. 

 

David Henrie wasn't wrong to say it because he was exploited - he's wrong because he thinks he's better than people and he thinks his obnoxious religious fantasies somehow makes him a better person than other people. 

Selena Gomez was not shaded.

He did not mention anything in this video about it. The fact that two child actors seemed to know why Dan wouldn't be asked back is the issue. It came off as David had previously spoken about it. Apparently he has said something before so this wouldn't be out of character.

Yeah, he is kinda blowing this way out of the water after twitter picked up David's reaction. How many posts did he make about this vaguebooking shade now?
Let's not act like the reason why he can make bank on OF is not solely because he was a child actor on Disney. That's how top earners got big OF earnings anyway: from their already existing following/recognition. This whole thing probably just makes him even more popular.

I think that's my point too—Selena is involved, but just enough to acknowledge her roots. She has much more on her plate now, and while Disney was a key part of her journey, this reboot feels premature and weak. If there were ever a want from fans to actually reboot "Wizards," it should focus on Selena's character, not Justin. It's strange they're reviving it without some of the main characters—even Justin's wife looks so much like Harper.
