Fortnight by Taylor Swift left global spotify, why?

A lot of songs got Halloween boosts, the song is not my cup of tea to say the least but I could see an embarrassing bump of this thread as early as tomorrow

Time to release Down Bad or GAS as a single

Posted

It's a terrible song. The fact that it's collaboration with Post Malone made it float higher than it would have on its own in the charts. Taylor has created good songs in the past, but this song and album are ridiculously mediocre even for her. No range, versatility, or risk-taking—that is what made Reputation good but her subsequent work has been rehashes of the same elevator music and Fortnight is the prime example.

And she returned to #1 on artists chart the same day. Even when she loses, she wins

I don't expect anything less based on the amount of album tracks she has released in the last 3 years alone

Red TV - 30 tracks

Speak Now TV - 22 tracks

Fearless TV - 27 tracks

1989 TV - 21 tracks

Midnights - 23 tracks

TTPD - 31 Tracks

Total: 154 album tracks released in the last 3 and a half years alone.

You don't even believe this. :toofunny3:

I don't like entertaining the "no solo hits!" narrative because a hit is a hit at the end of the day, but Post's hits this year were literally all collaborations with Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, and Beyoncé. His last hits were carried by Doja Cat and The Weeknd in 2022. Chemical didn't even go Top 10. Overdrive and Mourning tanked. If you think that he had any power in making the song chart longer then you're completely delulu and out of touch.

I didn't say "no solo hits"…I just said it's a terrible song and it floated higher on the charts with Post on it than it would have without him and both are true. But nice essay :allears:

And I'm saying that Post Malone, who was literally considered the male Katy Perry (aka an 10s FAD) before this year, had absolutely no impact on the song's chart run. If anything, some of Taylor's listeners were turned off by him.

Her fans and team moved on to ICDIWABH that's why. Fortnight has been dead and left the top 10 on billboard since they did that

Conveniently glossing over the fact most are replicas of songs released 10-16 years ago, so no reason for the casual listener to boost their likeness outside the first couple months novelty. :psyduck:
