mercurialworld Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) I hate it when a celebrity posts their "Halloween photos," only to reveal an orchestrated display that likely involved a small army of stylists, makeup artists, and set designers, and photo editors, plus a studio booked out for hours (all probably done months in advanced). Yes, they look flawless, but it feels so detached from what Halloween truly represents. This is what I mean: The best part of Halloween is the camp, the creativity, and the creativity that go into crafting a unique costume—putting together something original, quirky, or over-the-top with whatever is at hand. When that authenticity is stripped away, it leaves me feeling jaded. It becomes less "Halloween" and more like "Halsey: The Great Impersonator," and the spontaneity and joy and campiness that make Halloween so much fun just disappears. Like, what the hell is this? We want these shitty costumes back please. Put down the lighting equipment, the photoshop, the midjourney, EVERYTHING. We want to witness the humanity, the creativity, and the humour that underpins the origins of this holiday. Celebrities worldwide, do you hear me? Am I being cynical? Too pessimistic? Whatever. I've said my piece. What do you think? Edited November 3 by mercurialworld 6 4 1

BrokenMachine Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I mean, I don't need trashy costumes, but yeah, those celebs taking Halloween for some glam photoshots are doing way too much, and leave out the funny part of the celebration despite of looking 'perfect'. Demi's costumes were always a serve 1

imabadkid Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I'm glad celebs have more privacy now but in an odd way celebrity culture died when paparazzi culture died/when celebs being social media influencers just making content for their followers. there's no intrigue or mystery anymore, we actually have all come to realize that these people are not really that interesting, that's why I think people started following influencers, they realized celebs are super boring 2
