Some people to this day insist that Elvis is still alive. Others believe that Michael Jackson faked his own death or famed aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart.

I don't think there's any point to that (faking a death instead of just retiring) and in the case of MJ he's so famous that he'd probably be exposed by now if he was really alive.

Probably plastic surgery though, but I agree its too much work, unless you're really really famous and feel like no one is going to leave you alone, I don't see the point

I think it's definitely food for thought. There are many things we don't know about, and many angles of their lives we'll never get to examine.

Who knows? I think Michael could very well still be alive today, all things considered...

I think it's probably happened before, just based on the sheer number of celebrities there are/have been. You also have to remember, it's entirely possible that a celebrity who we don't know (i.e. a C-list celebrity in Turkmenistan in the 80s for example decided to run away from it all and live in some isolated mansion on a little island in the Philippines or whatever).

 

Entirely possible something like this could have happened. I think actually due to there being hundreds of thousands of celebrities, many if which are very rich and well-connected, I'd be pretty shocked if It hasn't happened at least once, somewhere.

 

Those if you who dismiss it after 5 seconds of thinking should think about it more. It could be accomplished.
