I think everyone has completely forgotten that his peers used to be those cringy forgotten fad viners like Cameron Dallas and Nash Grier so imagine the kind of environment he grew up in during his teens  Not to mention his whole career being marketed as "cute boy with a guitar" appealing to young women, he basically tried to live up to that since he got famous

 

That being said, he could be 100% straight and that's okay too!

Honestly i always thought the comments online about his sexuality were so annoying. Even homophobic people were nicer to Shawn overall.... I have yet to understand how people promote freedom to be whatever you want and at the same time try to spot any gay signs on people.

He's been in the ******* ringer over his sexuality for a while now, and while I'm glad that he came to this realization in his own time, I can't help but think that if he had just said this a few years ago instead of insisting he was 100% straight that people would've piped down about it.

Is it? I notice that gay men think this way about straight men's sexuality but never their own. Personally, I feel like you should be sure of your sexuality by 15, unless you're bi.  Late in life homosexuals never makes sense to me unless the person is asexual.  I say that because I know for a fact I will never wake up attracted to women.

i find that odd too. i knew from puberty who i was sexually attracted to. now, coming out is a different story all together. that can definitely be a journey, but who you're attracted to? you know from a young age.

It's pretty easy to know what you're into sexually if you're a man. You either get hard or you don't. I tried to watch lots of straight porn as a teen to make myself straight because I was so distraught about the fact that was into men, I didn't want to be gay. I was always as flaccid as a beached jellyfish. But emotional attraction is different. Maybe that's what Shawn is talking about? Whatever it is, it must be really tough to go through it with the whole world hyper-analyzing you.

Or he's a slightly effeminate straight guy with an audience that has told him since he was essentially a teenager that he can't possibly be straight and called any girl he's been with a hired beard.

What is there to talk about, really? This is tired. Didn't care about his sexuality years ago and I won't care now. It's his business.

 

I do understand he wants to share this with the world for some reason, it's important to him, and good for him for gradually coming to terms with it, but like I said, it's so tired.

 

And I don't think he owes this to the public after so many years of basically being hounded.

I feel bad for him, the way ATRL & Twitter have been harassing him with his sexuality is shocking and not normal. Not sure what they thought they had to gain from him being gay, it's not like he was ever going to touch them. It also had nothing to do with his work.
