LovingDays Posted October 27 Posted October 27 And let it be known that she is an ARTIST. A true f*ing LEGEND. 3
CRUNK. Posted October 27 Posted October 27 This is such a great song! I love X for Stripped forever!!!! 1
starsailor Posted October 27 Posted October 27 She was so young and was already bringing mature and important messages for the people, specially for the youngers. An album full of personality and courage. That's what we call an ARTIST! Funny how the music critics couldn't hide their rage against a young woman freely talking about sex and put Stripped in this box only, as if she was just a vulgar prostitute, when in the reality, this album is the quintessential freedom album. The Voice Within is one of the most touching and beautiful ballads of her career. Impossible was a great choice for the 5th single too, but The Voice Within is more universal, I think. 3 1

I remember stumbling upon old reviews on some old site and they were reviewing her outfits, not her music. That explains it all. There's only one song that is purely about sex on the album, so they looked like clowns.
Imagine Dragon Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I remember hearing this song for the first time in an English lesson - there was a section for it in the lecture book. The impact! It is so mesmerizing.
Filthy Pop Posted October 27 Posted October 27 "No one ever wants or bothers to explain/ all the heartache life can bring and what it means" one of my favorite lyrics ever. Everyone say thank you Legendtina 1
Shimenawa Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Better than the overplayed Beautiful and the music video is better too 1
CocoPouf Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I feel like this is the only single of the era that translates decently to the current state of pop music lyricism. Which is a good thing.
