Most of them, even Small Talk, received them on DAY ONE during their FIRST WEEK. Small Talk with a TTH #1 couldn't crack the Top 20 at all and Gaga's Disease without the placement has. Secondly, Ariana, Dua, Taylor, Billie all had a #1 on TTH and a music video on DAY ONE in their FIRST WEEK. Gaga didn't and still did 4.4M. People say TTH gives a boost, that the reason she went up yesterday was the music video effect but all of those I mentioned had all of that the day the song premiered so it's safe to say that 4.4M would've been more had she also done that. But lastly, listen to yourself. Disease without all of the above did 4.4M first day and it caused you guys to spiral out of control. Then when she saw a boost it was because of the music video, now that's she's stable it's because of Halloween and tomorrow if she's stable again or gets a boost it's because of TTH? I mean, listen to yourself. Desperately trying to discredit her success. NOW she has what the others have had since the beginning, so let's see. But Small Talk is a stupid example because it had all of the above and only spent a day in the Top 50. Disease didn't. So Katy's song is a stupid example.

Sister, please take a breath and unclench! I never claimed that Small Talk was a hit nor that Disease was going to follow its path directly. That was merely a reference to another post in which a user was providing an example of the fact that sometimes flop songs end up at #1 on TTH and that it doesn't have an impact if the public isn't receiving the song. Sure, Disease didn't start atop the playlist, but you'd have to be really high on your own supply to think it'll move the needle for Disease much now when I'd put good money on many (maybe even a majority) GP users starting their TTH streaming session with APT. or Taste. 

 

Disease's first day numbers were good! They were almost as good as Stupid Love! I'm sure they'd have been even better with the video and the TTH #1, maybe even above Stupid Love! The problem came in the form of the immediate collapse down the charts and the weaker than anticipated recoveries on days that should've been strong (both the first Monday and then the video/Halloween). We'll have to see what the numbers look like over the next few days, but I wouldn't have my hopes set too high if I were you!

 

All that's to say, it's far too early for anyone to be making comments about "stability" either way, when the song is less than a week old

Small Talk was released FIVE years ago. Spotify subscribers have duplicated since then, so it's fair to say Disease is on par

The irony when you call it a bomb when it likely won't be. A TTH #1 is just a way of exposure. But the song isn't performing like a bomb either. It rose up and has been stable for two days. And I can guarantee you that Spotify wouldn't allow to put a flop or bomb atop that playlist after they've seen the streams in the first week. It has never happened ever and will never happen. It's a beyond stupid excuse because why didn't Katy's WW go #1 on TTH? Or many many other bombs that were from major labels. Fact is, blaming this on payola is a way to cope for haters but if it were only money a lot of bombs would've taken the top spot days after premiering. The only bombs that took that spot took it before Spotify even knew how it was gonna perform. They are doing this in week two after seeing Disease's numbers so they must see some stability or good numbers. It's still a company with billions and they wouldn't risk their brand's reputation by putting songs the public said NO to on the face of the app. Some critical thinking skills is much needed.

Despite already being a middling debut, not terrible, but not exceptional, Disease is already, by day 6, sitting under 60% of its debut. Unless something changes with the autoplay arrangements, that number will continue to slide in the wrong direction. It's not as drastic of a bomb as Woman's World was, but considering that Lady GaGa is coming off of a gigantic smash hit, I think everyone expected both a better debut and a better hold, hence, for the expectations, this was a bomb. Also, arguing "stability" over the span of TWO DAYS is a futile exercise and is deeply unserious sis, please don't throw that word around like it has no meaning

I'm not going to bother to dig for an example for your sake, but TTH placements are solely dictated by whichever record label is most willing to donate the most to Spotify in any given week. If Capitol decided to write them a fancy check, they'd have put Woman's World on top, but Capitol didn't allocate much of a budget to the 143 era so that couldn't happen. Given 

how Disease is performing, I anticipate the LG8 budget being inline with 143's, and I'd be surprised to see GaGa's next lead single receive such a high playlist placement.

No, there is no hard and fast rule about bombs not being allowed on TTH. It's just that most labels don't try to salvage songs that bomb as hard as Disease.

Isn't it a widely accepted fact that the relevance of playlisting slots has declined over the years and that, despite an increase in followers, the number of streams derived from TTH are continuing to decrease? I think everyone agrees that Disease will derive little, if any, benefit from its placement atop TTH. Therefore, I can promise you with a high degree of certainty that absolutely no one outside of the stan world gives a single flying **** about what song is #1 on TTH and what the cover is. Spotify's PR team does not give a rat's ass about the potential ramifications of a flop being on the front of TTH, they're just happy to cash the check from Interscope.

I decided to take a sabbatical from this thread because I was told Gaga was smashing again but I checked the Global Charts today and she's only number 41? On Halloween with a supposed Halloween song? While she's number one on TTH? The Monsters are getting so cocky over this?
