The intro of this song is great but the hook is not hooking. Her Rain On Me feat. Chappell Roan is coming as follow up single tho!

Kinda reminds me exactly of Bloody Mary where the prechorus is the true catchy part of the song. Either way I still love it.

The song really grew on me. Again I can't state enough how a noisy PopGa bop only has one way to go and it's down. Excited to see what the 'LOT MORE' to come is

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the last pop album Gaga ever does. She was already phoning it in with Chromatica making songs that she didn't really want to just to please her fans, but they let it tank despite asking for even more "dark bAwPs!!". When she gives them what they asked for they don't even show up to support it judging by these numbers, and after only two days run back to the Bruno collab. Make the most of this era monsters, because it will be goodbye to Mother Monster after this.

I already said back during Chromatica era how this will be her last pop album (at least in a while) because she doesn't feel like she wanted to make it, but was rather forced by vocal minority stans. My dad and my aunt who never cared about Gaga became such huge fans after Shallow, it opened up a new audience for Gaga but she went back to ARTPOP music that is only talked about in one internet corner niche.

But then Bloody Mary went viral on Tiktok and Gaga instead of working back on her mature sound and music, was convinced yet again to make darkpop gay music that people who stream Die With a Smile and Shallow don't f**k with :rip: her career in late 2010s/early 2020s would've become that of 90s Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey because mainstream sound is lacking big vocal, serious adult contemporary music. Leave this Chromatica and Disease stuff to Kim Petras and these other girls, but now it's hopefully not too late for Gaga to release adult contemporary album as LG8 after LG7 campaign era is over.

There's also the reality where she looks genuinely happy again in a way that she hasn't looked about releasing new music since BTW and ARTPOP. I think she saw BM blow up and felt reinvigorated to go back to a signature sound of her's and based on the snippets she played in Paris we're about to get MUCH more experimental tracks on the album too.

Completely agree with everything you said. Hopefully DWAS smashing will make her realise that's the lane for her to focus on.

Gaga also needs better people advising her, bc when she said her fiancé encouraged her to make pop music again I knew it wasn't a good idea that she's letting her partner get so involved in her career. I mean he's even a writer on this (badly written) song. She got rid of all her friends / yes-men working for her only to replace them with her man. :gaycat6:

What else is she gonna do? Go back to singing the standards? That already flopped this month too. :gaycat6:

She'll try to be the new Adele, only doing slow songs that serve vocals.

Sooo is her team just focusing on DWAS instead this week I'm confused. You'd think we'd be getting like actual press this week with interviews about Disease because that's what she did for Chromatica/Love For Sale/Harlequin... but no noise? Is it just gonna start next week or-

This is just so funny because you just KNOW Gaga and her team thought they hit the jackpot with this rollout. Blockbuster film smashing, companion soundtrack benefiting from that, then kickstart the official era with that hype. Too bad for them (and thank god for us) everything went the WRONG way!

DWAS is a monster smash out the gate, of course the label will push that instead.

so this may be why she's been so quiet

She released the song to distract the Gay Monsters from finding the location of her Wedding and screaming 'Yaaass Gaga' as she walked down the aisle.

I agree, this will probably be her last pop album. For the Telephone 2 stans, it's now or never. Well, kinda, I guess they could record that as a rock song or whatever.

If I were a Liddo, I'd be frustrated with people wanting my fave to release more tracks like "Shallow" and "DWAS".

:suburban:

Sure, they're hits, but how many more of the same style can she make? She should stick to pop; it just needs to be better.

OT: The lyric video hit 3 million views on YouTube.
