This is just so funny because you just KNOW Gaga and her team thought they hit the jackpot with this rollout. Blockbuster film smashing, companion soundtrack benefiting from that, then kickstart the official era with that hype. Too bad for them (and thank god for us) everything went the WRONG way!

It's amazing how this outcome actually turned out. For years, monsters defended Gaga with 'Oscar winner' arguments whenever someone questioned her declining music career. But now, it all seems lost—they can't even rely on that since JFAD (which was their go-to example for her success) ended up failing.

 

A bombed film, soundtrack, and lead single all at once is incredible, but it's a reminder that Gaga has been box office poison and a flop since 2013. And, of course, it's entirely her own fault—she might do well with others, but she struggles to succeed alone.

I hate that only her adult contemporary GP appealing songs do well these days and not her more experimental electronic records with a bit of a darker tinge.  When people wonder why she became so sanitized following ARTPOP, and why we got the version of Gaga we did from 2015-2019, you have your answer clear as day.

Gaga as a solo act is Gagover, we've been knew since 2020 when she couldn't get a proper hit on her own. Rain on Me, Sour Candy, Die with A Smile prove that. The sooner you admit it, the better. She will have a long and fruitful touring career though!
