This is not payola, this is promotion. Can you blame the label for not investing in it after Bruno's DWAS did as well as it did? Sadly they didn't realize no feature = no hit. Poor dat!!

Wasn't Sympathy is a Knife #1 on TTH just a couple weeks ago and nowhere to be found on Spotify Global 200?

 

What's the excuse for that one that we'll ignore here?

Lashings aside, it's actually pretty interesting to have such microscopic attention paid to all the daily numbers and statistics.

As a Gaga stan I'm not under any delusion that this is anything other than a flop, but I'm curious at what point we can say that all hope is gone of the single bouncing back and catching on. Did we reach that point today? A few days ago? Was it all set in stone from the day 2 drop? 

It would be cool if we could see some recent spotify/chart runs that managed to turn from a flop to a bop, and how late in the game they were able to make that turnaround. It's also interesting how little payola and playlisting seems to help in 2024, there's really no way to force a hit song if the GP isn't here for it.
