Her trying to make a hit out of a controversy surroudning sexual abuse with Do What U Want is such a dark and vile episode of modern day mainstreaam music... and she managed to get a pass. Gotta admire her PR machine after ARTPOP, the image softening was meticulously planned. Now, liddos have no excuse, they know what the drama was all about and still get on with the revisionist approach. Sick fan base.

It's pretty obvious looking at the plans that never materialized from the era (a Manicure vid w Charlie Sheen, DWUW mv, Sexxx Dreams w Robin Thicke) that ARTPOP was gonna be an album cycle manufactured to create controversy. She realized pretty quickly that it was a mistake (and DWUW was also a song that we know she didn't want to make a single but the label encouraged). Music video shoot happened in full and it never materialized (it never even made it to the final edit). She took the song off of streaming websites, the song got taken off radio quickly, and she later apologized for the situation. It's been out of print on every subsequent release of the album (which has had several reissues in the past 5 years). What more is she supposed to do? It's very obvious she wanted to stir up controversy with the situation and has distanced herself from it entirely. Same with Terry Richardson. And both of those were 10 years ago.

Acting like none of these people got MAJOR blowback for their association with Luke is very very very funny. Since day 1 Kim has been scrutinized for her connection to him. Katy got blowback because she distanced herself from him for a decade and then suddenly went back to having a working relationship, allowing him to exec produce her album. Not only that but she proceeds to dodge every question regarding his involvement despite him being credited on all except one track on the album. Comparing that situation, that is CURRENTLY happening is tired. Not to ******* mention Katy almost released a version of the title track of her last album with P DIDDY on it of all people. To think she ran from Diddy to Dr Luke in a few year timespan is very ironic actually. Let's not get into all of that in the 'Lady Gaga - Disease Spotify Thread' though.

Even if the song was to plunge to 100k daily she's still not a laughing stock to the GP like Katy has become which is what made this era for her the real blow to her career. No one cares to notice that the song isn't #1 on all fronts and her entire reception has been massively positive. Katy stood no chance commercially OR respectably the complete opposite of Gaga. This song will still go on to achieve Platinum if not higher once it's run is over which come to think of it when is the last time Katy achieved that?

Ava Max's entire career is a tribute to Gaga and the one person exec producing her literally ran to Gaga right after he dumped Ava off and made a song that's gonna be a bigger hit than anything Ava has put out since she tried to use RedOne for Kings and Queens.
