She apologised until six years later, when the documentary came out and she was on an Oscar campaign. The Dr. Luke/Kesha thing wasn't even happening when Katy made the other records with Dr. Luke. So it's not the same thing. Katy worked with a rapist in 143, but Gaga not only worked with one, but also defended him and did nasty performances alongside him. Katy still has six years to apologise.

Not a Katy stan but whoever owns the masters has control over whether they get uploaded or removed from streaming services, so selling her catalogue means Katy can't do this. In Gaga's case, Interscope owns the masters and obviously has an interest in the continued success of her career, so they would have no problem agreeing to remove DWUW from services. The situation would likely be very different where the masters have been purchased for profit by a third party entity who makes no direct money off of Katy's future performance.

It's also not the same situation when only a single, non-signature song needs to be removed vs literally all of her signature hits and most of her catalogue. 

The choice to work with him again in 2024 is still indefensible and putrid though, so keep going with that!

First they brag how Katy and Gaga are in the same boat, then start playing the victim when Monsters show that Gaga consistently outperforms Katy in every metric.

Gaga at her worst is still doing better than Katy at her best.

Gaga only apologised because R. Kelly was arrested and there was a huge ass documentary about his crimes; and following what everybody else was doing at the time (Chance The Rapper apologised, PCD deleted their track with R. Kelly etc.)

 

Katy's case is different since she was THE ONLY ONE crucified for working with Luke while everyone stays silent when Nicki, Kim, Doja, The Weeknd etc. worked with him and nobody has ever apologised for working with Luke

R Kelly and I have sometimes had very untrue things written about us, so in a way this was a bond between us
