They're clearly friends. They were just joking around.

I think demonstrating boundaries and enforcing them is GREAT. Honestly the most exciting development I've seen in the pop world in awhile. If we, as a culture, ever move past parasocial relationships with musicians, it will be because of stars like Chappell. Anyone talking **** about this is simply mirroring their own parasocial obsessions with people who will never know their names.

She should skip the red carpet, just attend the event. Didn't she hate fame or camera?

If parasocial relationships cease to exist then so will pop culture.

She's every right to call out that photographer as many times as she pleases. I would call out my bullies every time I saw them in public too

didnt the original guy who "yelled at her" at the VMA's was actually yelling at another photographer for being rude?

I would just ignore them at this point. They're going to continue trying to provoke her if she reacts since it'll get them clicks.

How has she had fans all these years? Is this how she is all the time?

People saying she's asserting boundaries? What? How? She's going out of her way to hash out old drama on a red carpet, and it's petty af. You can't just use some pseudo psychological language and expect everyone to put up with ha.

At least she didn't beat their ass like Bjork would've.

On a so serious note, I do not feel bad for this girl. There's a clear power imbalance between a mega star and a lackey paparazzi photog lol. They're all there to do a job and play the game, hence why she's walking these carpets to show face and make headlines to begin with, and yet she feels the need to pull a 'boss *****' move on randoms for what?

I actually do respect her for confronting someone who clearly wasn't very nice to her in the past. :michael:

Didn't she hate fame? Why is she out here on red carpets and trying to get photographed? :rip:
