Letters From Adi Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Isn't Mariah like the 5th or 6th best selling female artists of all time in Europe or something? That's an impressive feat considering RnB was not a thing in Europe back then

Charts Analysts would put her in the 5th position.
rockettoast Posted October 26 Posted October 26 We Belong Together not reaching at #1 feels wrong (I know the UK chart is based on sales not airplay)
Støned Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Through The Rain at #8? Her best lead single in the 2000s did that. UK really have taste!
Abracadabra Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Omg at first I thought it said Heartbreaker peaked at #53 1

stevyy Posted October 26 Author Posted October 26 1 hour ago, KillingYourCareer said: Now why did Obsessed bomb like that? it wasn't released there. It was made available when the album came out (5 months after it had been released in the US). So, Obsessed was almost 6 months old when it was finally allowed to chart. The release strategy of Obsessed and Memoirs continues to be one of the greatest mysteries in modern music history. Memoirs: release dates: 09/28 - Asia Pacific 09/29 - USA 10/03 - Europe 11/22 - UK and Ireland = 7 weeks delay in the UK! SEVEN. Obsessed release dates: 06/16 - USA 07/07 - Europe 09/21 - France 11/22 - UK & Ireland & Germany = 20 weeks delay in the UK! TWENTY I do not know any other era by a Major music star which got this treatment. The first single off Memoirs in the UK and Germany was I want to know what love is which premiered on radio in August of 2009 and was released digitally and physically in November. (another 3 months delay).

stevyy Posted October 26 Author Posted October 26 Mariah Carey has 12,6 million singles certified in the UK. Is that good? Is she a singles artist? She only got 6,060,000 albums certifications there. (18,660,000 music recordings).
