Starkboy Posted March 17 Posted March 17 UK mid 1 (NE) The Giver 3 (-2) Pink Pony Club 28 (+2) Good Luck, Babe! she's still #1 on the midweek chart but it's very unlikely she stays there until friday (she's currently #7 on Spotify). she still gonna have two songs in the top5 tho!
DRod93 Posted March 17 Posted March 17 5 hours ago, Rigalo said: Country was never even popular for women, all of the big country songs from the last few years are Tailgate-country-pop songs sung by men. Except like what, Texas Hold 'Em? While mainstream country doesn't play many women, its biggest market is actually women. All of those Tailgate-country-pop songs are mostly directed at women. Mainstream country basically made all of the men follow the Bon Jovi formula, where they are for ladies but the men want to be them 1

Hex Posted March 18 Posted March 18 3 hours ago, dwuw said: how is it weird? she went full country This... is not full country. It's a radio pop song with some fiddles and stuff playing into an aesthetic more than anything lol But to the GP, who really only interprets things on the surface-level of what "vibe" is being sold, yes this is "full country"
roman19911 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Yes! I knew it would rise again quickly Really hoping for #1 debut in the UK. And i think it is very possible, as her Friday numbers had a pretty big lead
Green Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I wonder if there's still a chance for the song to reach #1 in the UK

Lightbringer007 Posted March 18 Posted March 18 the song rising iktr! all it needs is a cool mv + performance and bam its a hit
kimberly Posted March 18 Posted March 18 the people complaining about this song being cuntry are very interesting to me. because from where I'm at, this song sonically fits into the Chappell Roan spectrum pretty well. it's nowhere near as drastic as Beyoncé dropping "My House" and "Texas Hold Em" within 2 months of each other like, did y'all even listen to The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess in its entirety? this girl had country influence all over. if you only know "HOT TO GO," you may have missed that. 5 2
CottageHore Posted March 18 Posted March 18 People who think this is "pure country" are stupid as all hell. This is incredibly poppy country. It's very Shania and Shania was always country POP. Just about nothing on country radio today is "pure country" anymore and this is even less so. But love to see the song rising just as I knew it would. This is gonna be a smash with longevity, watch. 1
