Hex Posted October 25 Posted October 25 What does she mean by " a literal energetic pause that almost feels like physical"... and "I want to wait to see what the musical atmosphere feels like."? It sounds like she's talking about what was her perceived public embrace of the genre and that she wanted to something to appeal for the masses, no? Which is bizarre because when has she ever done something just to appeal to the masses? Let alone to appeal to her fans? All of her work thus far has seemed driven by her own musical ambitions so I'm very confused by this. Is she second guessing her decision to "appeal to the masses"? Or does she want to change the direction to whatever the appeal is now (since she's saying it seems like there is a shift happening, at least from what she perceives)
Kimi Posted October 25 Posted October 25 as if half cooked borderline demo isn't what her last 3 albums sounded

Dark.Poet Posted October 26 Posted October 26 She is probably trying to rework songs and make them sound bit more southern gothic. 1
Acuminatus Posted October 26 Posted October 26 The album is going to be all about that Alligator COCC
Bryan Spears Posted October 29 Posted October 29 (edited) Interview with Vogue Italia Quote She is also trying with Lasso , the new album born from a period spent between Mississippi and Arkansas, but which as we speak is still in progress, so much so that it could be released with a different title. "There was a lot of "American flair", too much of that very American aesthetic. I stopped because I didn't recognize myself . I would like this album to be a reflection of the person I am today. I might turn it into something more " southern gothic ," like it was supposed to be in the beginning, and less country." Well! Edited October 29 by Bryan Spears
