That's why she still radiates so much happiness in this era

Bad_vocal_technique Posted October 25 Posted October 25 'Who are your rivals?' Was she 15 at the time?
ShouldersSideways Posted October 25 Posted October 25 She's dragging every pop star not named Britney Spears or Beyonce*, not just Katy. *Neither of them participated in the vitriol of early stan Twitter like the rest of them did
UnusualBoy Posted October 25 Posted October 25 The fact that some people think this is a drag when it's an advice. It'd be amazing to see how some of you function in real life with such mentality 1

Bencharmer Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I'm always surprised we are on a pop music forum and so little people around here seem to get interested in the marketing/business and the psychological implications of that world. Y all think those pop girls descend from heavens and are just here to make music to satisfy a bunch of gay men and teen girls cause God told them too?!? 2000's pop girls were FORCED to be competitive. It was a very loaded business and the labels invested a lot of money in them. Xtina/Britney was a clear idea of that dynamic. Katy's label invested a lot into her cause white guys thought she had "something special" that "could make them win a lot of money". They didn't predict the impact of Teenage Dreams who has number that only match Michael Jackson's record?!? Imagine having that weight on your shoulders and having your label expecting to keep up with the same numbers. I admire Stevie's wisdom. But she is from a generation where the rules were different. Today's pop girls also have different rules. They don't need to get a #1 to have success or recognition. Social media made possible to give smaller artists a field to play and being profitable for the companies. Anyway, what i meant is it's too simple to think all those pop girls can do whatever they want and not considering the pressure behind whatever bop they can serve you. 2
