Madonna's Bedtime Stories turns 30

Survival is like one of her best songs ever. Top 3 Madge album definitely.

One of her most underrated albums by FAR. Take a Bow is a surprisingly forgotten hit considering how massive it was at the time and some of the deep cuts like Sanctuary or Survival are divine :jonny:

This album is a beautiful work of art, my favorite Madonna album. The production of the album is so lush and her vocals on it are so smooth and rich.

I hope she dips her feet into this sound again for a few songs.

I like others here didn't appreciate this album at first when I was exploring her discography, but it really is crazy how effortlessly she was able to emulate the RnB sound of the time. I love Survival and the title track (even though it's pretty much a Bjork song) but the best is easily Human Nature. Even though this album was supposed to help soften her image after Erotica she still went off on the GP on that track lol.

It's soooo bizarre to me that the song and video were HUGE and then a couple years later you never heard it anywhere.

Legendary album. Fun fact, SOPHIE said this is one of the works that inspired her throughout her career. :clap3:

In my mind, Madonna created the blueprint for modern pop stars. Her creativity has gone further, wider and longer than anyone else I can think of; I feel like her songs have been consistently memorable and meaningful. I have loved all of Madonna's different phases at different points, but I think the Bedtime Stories era [1994] is really intriguing, especially the production – it has a unique feeling. It's so much more fully formed and sexy than a lot of the trip-hop stuff that was coming out around that time. It's definitely been an influence on my own music.

Yeah, it's really strange, how can a song that's been #1 for 7 weeks be so forgotten in the following years? Of all her hits it's one of the ones that feel that most... erased for lack of a better word and i just don't understand why :rip:

Great album. Always curious to what a tour for this album would have looked like. Probably similar to the Brit Awards performance of Bedtime Story:

This performance lives rent free in my head.

Sanctuary is spectacular, I always thought of it as a prototype for the sound she would go on exploring immediately after with Ray Of Light.
