"But with the quarter-century mark coming up, we decided it was a good time to zoom out a little bit on the whole last 25 years in pop stardom. And so this week, we begin our countdown of the 25 Greatest Pop Stars of the 21st Century: a list attempting to take stock of the pop stars who have been most important and most impactful in the U.S. over that timespan".
John Slayne Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Gaga is coming for top 3 nobody has her talent, versatility, and acclaim 4 1

Yeah, Jaz Z had bigger hits than Blinding Lights or Uptown Funk lol.

dumbsparce Posted October 22 Posted October 22 (edited) Britney, Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna and Taylor are guaranteed. Which leaves 2 spots left in the top 7. One of Pink, Xtina and BEP will be left out.. and that is IF they decide to not pull shenanigans and sneak BTS in there too. Oh wait, they're adding rappers too. Yeah it's a wrap for BEP and Xtina. Pink might be safe though. Edited October 22 by dumbsparce

I mean this is based on chart history since 2000 so I stan her so I do not mean this as a drag whatsoever but I'd also find it surprising that Gaga is so high based if it's based solely on chart performance. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I don't think she was even in the top 10 of the 2010's decade. She had 1.5 massive eras and steady success/some flops otherwise. I don't think the gap between her and Katy would be this big. Edited October 22 by DevilsRollTheDice

I don't think The Fame was that much bigger in the US than Teenage Dream (if at all if you're going by Billboard's chart methodology). I would also assume Eminem and Adele would be higher. I'm sure chart performance is a major factor but isn't Billboard's pop star of the year a variety of things? I'd imagine this is, too. Edited October 22 by DevilsRollTheDice
Body Talk Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Britney, Gaga, Beyonce, Drake, Taylor, Rihanna are in there. Not sure the 7th. Could be Kanye.
slw84 Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Britney, Rihanna, Beyonce, Gaga, Taylor, Drake and who else???Kanye/Black eyed Peas/Maroon 5 I'm sure they'll have one guy in the top 5 probably Drake. Since this is not based on charts but impact I hope it's a variation of: Britney/Beyonce #1 #3 Rihanna #4 Taylor #5 Gaga #6 Drake and whoever is #7 Kanye or someone.
rhaenyra Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Beyoncé at #3 Lady Gaga #2 Britney Spears #1 Screenshot this when it comes true
Papi Juancho Posted October 23 Posted October 23 low, imagine thinking that Kanye, Drake and Gaga were/are bigger than Justin.
babyforlife Posted October 23 Posted October 23 Gaga is either #6 or #7 i think, the top 3 would be Bey/Taylor/Rihanna
