Will Olivia change her sound for OR3?

Will she still stubbornly stick with her pop-rock/punk sound or move on to a new sound for OR3? What kind of sound would you want her to explore?

Imagine her doing pure pop like Ari...

I prefer SOUR >>> I know I'm in the minority!

Not really. All she should do is distance from the angry teen pop/punk-rock sound and transition into a more sophisticated and mature rock/alt sound.

The collapse if she served something as good as this. :jonny5:

She should stick with rock even though the genre isn't GP friendly since it helps her stand out from the rest of the pop girls. But she should also move on from her current pop punk sound and explore other subgenres of rock. A folk rock or a new wave album would be great.

GUTS is so ******* good I wouldn't mind if she kept the same sound

Hopefully! I loved GUTS, but she needs to switch it up. Doesn't need to be some huge switch, but definitely something fresh and new for her. GUTS and SOUR felt a little too similar.

more deja vu, less brutal :alexz2:

Guts > Sour

Sure, Sour has Deja Vu but Guts is just overall a more enjoyable album

We don't need her doing dated Max Martin'd pop, there's already 200 girls who serve that.

She should move on from poprock though if she doesn't want to tank

I'm 100 % convinced that So American is a teaser of the new album in terms of sound. I think it's gonna be much more upbeat. Possibly new wave inspired.

This. Pop-rock is a good fit for her, but the bratty teen aesthetic is wearing very thin and she needs to move on if she wants longevity as an adult artist.

Yeah would love for her to lean into a more psychedelic or shoegaze sound (or new wave or jangle pop; somewhere under that umbrella). She kinda dabbled with it on pretty isn't pretty as well and I think it'd be a natural progression that still keeps things distinctive

Also sometime in the future I think a more folk-oriented release could be cool as well. Songs like stranger, girl i've always been, even her Stick Season cover show that it suits her really well (but it'd maybe be less commercially palatable)

I hope so. I lost all interest when she just extended the theme from Sour. It didn't feel like growth or an improvement, and Guts didn't have any of the replay value that the first album had.

GUTS is good but definitely a SOUR pt 2.  Even the album cover looks like it could be from the same shot as SOUR was. Same sound, same topics.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, but considering that SOUR was much bigger than GUTS maybe a change is warranted.

Pure pop would be a mistake

She has to go back to her deja vu bag and try others genres of rock

she needs some rap features

her pop that pumpum era

Next album should be more alternative rock and new wave than teen angst pop punk, think Paramore's last two records (yeah, I know, the irony lol).

Sour was her Fearless

Guts was her Speak Now (Showing growth-skills as a songwriter) (Both highly influenced by pop rock)
The next one should be her Red.  Experimentation with different genres but without goin too overly manufactured. Synthpop/Folk/Rock/Ballads.....

But please show something different visual wise. Its interesting when pop singers have a style change
