G.U.Y_Del_Rey Posted October 22 Posted October 22 (edited) It's a cute collection of songs, and better than many albums released that year (not COCC though). Β Edited October 22 by G.U.Y_Del_Rey
NOW Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Her "worst" album but also still underrated to me. It lacks polish but I love how it transports me back into the contemplative state I found myself in during most of 2021, this and Chemtrails both do that for me.
SixWholeYears Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Her worst album, but still better than anything Taybore put out. 1
ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted October 22 ATRL Moderator Posted October 22 Underrated album! Β And an interesting first look into her getting personal in a way she hadn't before. Β Text Book, the title track and Thunder>>>
SpaceOddity Posted October 22 Posted October 22 That overtly serious poetic stream of consciousness style she did for Chemtrails and this one never won me over, it felt like she sacrificed every bit of her melodic instincts so she could focus on the lyrics but it's not like the lyrics were THAT great to warrant for it. She just didn't seem like she could pull that sound off, to me it always came off pompous and not what you seek for in a Lana record. Ocean Boulevard was a touch down and she nailed whatever she was trying to do here, perfectly bridging both chapters of her discography and offering something genuine and fresh. I do remember liking Living Legend, Black Bathing Suit and Nectar Of The Gods though.Β
