Black Sunflower Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) I have a friend who is a hard sell when it comes to Gaga, we've been close friends for 15+ years but she never has shown much enthusiasm for a Gaga song and she likes all types of music, but she is digging Disease & even watched the video. A pleasant surprise for me during this rollout. I hope she releases some kind of merch soon as well as performs it live. I doubt the latter will happen anytime soon unfortunately but who knows, maybe she'll surprise us. Edited November 1 by Black Sunflower 5

If they dropped physicals she would have easily bagged another top 10. I'm so glad I stayed away from ATRL these losers would make you believe Gaga is over when this is performing the same as The Weeknds latest lead Dancing In The Flames but even he had physicals so technically this is holding stronger. Also just gotta say this song is amazing and so is the video. She really didn't come to play! Edited November 1 by eclipsed 8

2ne1k Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Glad they didn't force choreo into this MV and instead made it more cinematic. A nice watch. As for the song itself, I'm still underwhelmed. Her vocals seem to be on one level almost the entire track and the songwriting feels lazy. It's not bad but it's not exciting. Looking forward to the rest of the album. Really intrigued by that snippet halfway into the video

Who else is doing it That's what I'm thinking like this just proves the demand for her is still there which a few days ago I would have thought she was completely over because of ATRL freaks. I mean Disease I think is a fantastic song, her best lead in years but I can understand if it isn't for everyone, its abrasive and unlike anything thats popular today but Gaga is a risktaker and we've been here before with PI. With an undeniable commercial song she can still bag gp hits but thats what DWAS is for anyway so its no big deal. If it were top 30-40 or something then I'd be worried. 3
Sweetestsecret Posted November 1 Posted November 1 If she had physicals and the video was released the same day with the song this would have been a top 10 hit on hot 100. Missed opportunity

Lower Top 20 for a Gaga first single isn't great but considering I thought it looked like it was gonna miss the Top 40, let's take the small W. We love her again….or something.
perfectillusion204 Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Half of you complaining about a #18 debut… STOP asking about physicals omg. They are clearly going the LONGEVITY route and didn't want this single run to last 1 week only. Either buckle up and get in for the long ride or gtfo. 6
djcalpal Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Omg so much stability on Spotify today, even with all the Halloween tracks creeping in! #41 again on Spotify Global - would be #35 without the Halloween tracks. She's growing! 2

IBeMe Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Can someone make a Jujutsu Keisan edit of Sukuna taking over what's his names body and possessing him when the song plays "I can be your doctor I could cure your disease"...that would legit go viral on tiktok yall 1

longjohn9898 Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Calling this a "Halloween song" is such a disservice to the masterful vocals and songwriting that went into this track. It might marginally help that it's spooky season, but the reality is most general listeners haven't been exposed to Disease yet. It took Die With A Smile weeks for it to fully disseminate into the masses into the ridiculous smash it is today, so this just needs some momentum over time. Even if Gaga gets a fraction of commercial success with this track, she already has the biggest song of the year and more importantly is making music that completely subverts expectations of what a pop song in 2024 should sound like and you can tell even OGHs can admit this music makes her happy and focused in a way that she hasn't been in many years. It's an appetizer to the main course of LG7 and it's a bloody good one 2
