What exactly are you expecting her pop to sound like? Generic trash? Do you have ears? All those albums sound completely different to each other and experimental. BTW is industrial/rock pop elements, Artpop is EDM a trend which everyone did in 2012/13 Chromatica is 90s house/dance music. Your logic makes zero sense. Edited October 27 by Plasticdoll 8

The song is very Gaga, fresh in the current music climate yet the chorus gives you 00's poprock throwbacks like Anastacia that I love. Overall I find it similar to Perfect Illusion that I always liked at well. I feel the song lacks something melodically and doesnt't make sense as a lead but none of her leads since Bad Romance did her or the upcoming album any justice anyway. It is 100x better than Stupid Love or anything on that album so the direction feels right. It is also a song that grows on you and dont get overplayed quickly. I see it having good longevity if she plays is right. This.
lilrobomonster Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Can't help but dance every time I put this on, regardless of what I'm doing in the moment. It gets even better on every listen and it's got me so hyped for the album 7

Jude Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Even if this song plummets, it's safe to say this caused a great buzz to the OG fans so they will at least support the album. An album can still be successful without successful singles (not saying Disease will flop, it's still too early to tell its chart run). Hopefully we get another single before the album drops to keep this hype going, though. 1 1
Plasticdoll Posted October 27 Posted October 27 (edited) It's been 2 days… Stan culture is so toxic. This song has critical acclaim and mostly positive feedback. Most pop girls struggle to chart in this climate. I think it will do well Edited October 27 by Plasticdoll 5

ARTPOP and BTW have a huge range of sounds on them. 1

eclipsed Posted October 27 Posted October 27 (edited) The way this has just gotten better every single day for me. Like wow. It's starting to sound like a 10/10 she really did that. It might even be better than Applause which I love so much Edited October 27 by eclipsed 6

They have done absolutely nothing they are honestly lucky it debuted with 4-5M. Dropped a tweet and left. So the strategy is to do nothing, had months and months but couldn't even come with CDs and Vinyls? Right.. What exactly is she paying her team for? I just wish liddos wouldn't get so deterred and continued streaming but as soon as they see something as negative its over, its a shame. This song doesn't seem like something gp would eat up like DWAS so she really needs her fans more than ever and well they aren't really doing anything to excite the fans so I guess its just gonna be a PI situation and let the song do what it does.. I think they're trying to play the long game. The video will be released soon (Halloween?) and the CDs and vinyls then as well. Maybe they want a stronger second week? I don't think they'll "just drop and leave". Liddos should just continue streaming as the debut proved that she still has a big and devoted fanbase. 1
Mke1979 Posted October 27 Posted October 27 I absolutely love this song! I just wonder why the lyric - "Lay me down like 1-2-3" 123?? Wouldn't "get close to me - be next to me - or sleep next to me" or ANYTHING other than 1-2-3 sound fuller? But that's just my one critique. I'm sure the video is coming soon.
pinkbowvintage Posted October 27 Posted October 27 Oh this is incredible. A true return to form. There's some kind of drug in that hook... 1

Gaga is the head of her team, ultimately these decisions come down to her. We sort of gave up expecting proper rollouts from her since... Joanne honestly. And when they do get one thing right, they don't do anything else. 1 hour ago, eclipsed said: I just wish liddos wouldn't get so deterred and continued streaming but as soon as they see something as negative its over, its a shame. It's kinda a shame cus it's one of her best leads and the gp probably don't even know it exist. I keep repeating this in different threads, but she did this to herself. Within the past 10 years, she has released 2 pop albums and 3 jazz/jazz-adjacent records. If you want to add ASIB in there, that can maybe count as 1/3 of a pop record. She abandoned Chromatica right after its release aside from a few contractual commitments. As a fan, I understand *why* she felt she needed to make those records and decisions, but that doesn't negate how she lost fans due to her own choices. 1

It doesn't have to make sense, think Bad Romance, Love Game But yeah I'm a fitness trainer so I'm thinking she explains the steps of the laying down 1. grab my waist 2. bend your knees 3. slowly lay me down Also, I would say that in general 123 makes more sense than 143 1
