memo90061 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 From the snippets, I only like the verse. I don't like the chorus. :( I'll give it a chance!
xokuba Posted October 24 Author Posted October 24 (edited) I like it, but Somebody Else's outsold Edited October 24 by xokuba 1
GwennyGwenGwen Posted October 24 Posted October 24 This is really nice. I was expecting a "bigger" song sonically so it felt a bit disappointing on first listen (and also because we heard so much of it from the clips, that there isn't toooo much new)...but it's actually a really lovely, chill, intimate song with lovely melodies. Definitely feels like it'll be a grower. That being said, idk that i understand using this as a single to hype the album, it feels very much like a nice album track to me. 1
Hector Posted October 24 Posted October 24 This is lovely. Adult alternative music done right. Vocals sounds pretty.
Bryan Spears Posted October 24 Posted October 24 excited for this one! The snippet sounded really good! I grew to appreciate Somebody Else's immensely so I think now that my expectations for her are up to date, this will be a great follow up
Frozen99 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 it sounds country, which is okay, but kinda boring... hopefully the melody throughout will improve i hated the previous single, i wish she went more with the true babe vibe... or the reggae which she said in an interview ppl didn't like
Scheissex Posted October 24 Posted October 24 It's okay. I prefer Somebody Else's. This is even more country than that so not sure this will help push the album in any way
Frozen99 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 i can't believe she thought the reggae album was bad and then serves this, i'm actually shocked at how bland this is... 1 1

I mean, where was that album even going? LMRIM was a reiteration of who she is, fair as a droplet but not as an album anchor SC was.... a regression to LAMB era but overly sanitized I'd much rather her be delivering something new unique and quality in an era than wherever that was going. Hopefully this album (seemingly lower budget) leads to another that does something with more edge.

Quote "something new unique and quality" so far it's very disappointing, i enjoy country but this is weak. 1 1
memo90061 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 I still agree about what I thought earlier. I like the verses, but I don't like her voice in the chorus. I don't know it sounds so different. :( The songs does feel very bland to be the second single. I do love when she yells out the OHHHHHHHH towards the end of the song and then she says "I want you here." I think that saves the song for me. Somebody Else's is definitely stronger! I've been wanting a mature album from Gwen and it looks like this will be it. I just hope her vocals are like in Somebody Else's and not Swallow My Tears.
Sabandija Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Something's wrong when Somebody's Else is the strongest thing you have to offer. I don't lose hope but this album is looking worse by the minute. 1
Bencharmer Posted October 24 Posted October 24 The songs aren't amazing but that style truly fits her and goes well with her vocals.

Slap Posted October 25 Posted October 25 (edited) This is so good what is going on in this thread? People do the most with her. This is giving early 00s movie soundtrack classic, absolutely love it. Her vocals sound so beautiful. I say that as somebody who would prefer her reggae or more pop stuff. Edited October 25 by Slap 5 1
