Wicked Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Miles Davis had a period of 3-4 albums a year, but like someone mentioned the climate and all that factors in. I prefer less albums, I could see preferring artists to release more frequently if you are extra selective about who you listen to.

Plus Our Love/Sunset People wasn't released in the USA. And the other examples you listed literally only had 2/3 singles like you said when I was clearly talking about more than 4 like Thriller….?!?!? No, the first like "back in those days albums would only have 1 single" and then said things didn't change till the 1980s that is not true of the 1970s Edited October 19 by DonnaSpring

I glimpsed through the tracklists of the listed albums and My Tennessee Mountain Home and Dolly are completely solo written, and she is the sole writer on the majority of most of her solo albums. Even when she recorded other writers' work, I kept seeing the same handful of names repeated. Her least involved album is, ironically, Dolly Dolly Dolly, where she has no credits at all (but the singles were cowritten by Donna Summer and Kesha's mom respectively!). I love the fact that she's an artist competent enough to make dozens of albums out of self-written material, yet also gracious and humble enough to accept songs written for her by others. Let the best song win!
