Sugababes old music videos receive an update for the first time since 2009

While Sugababes regained access to the official YouTube channel in 2019, they did not have access to the VEVO uploads. The descriptions for all music videos with Island Records have now been updated to reflect the current lineup with links to the girls accounts and also feature lyrics. This is the first time Sugababes music videos with Island Records have received an update since they were uploaded

Their Youtube is a MESS! I'd love for Chris Fox to [try] and get involved, and remaster all of their music videos.

Their channel is horrifically mishandled, the quality is ****, some of them end abruptly before the song ends.

This is such a haunting song but I will never understand decision to release such a ballad with winter video in summer :rip:

it was released in the summer? :skull:

It's legit my fav ballad of theirs...that's the beautiful thing about Sugababes...they had very experimental pop songs, classic ballads, rnb tracks and then sad or dark bops or dark / moody ballads that were very unexpected from a girlgroup.

Yes, it was summer single :rip:

Ofc it became one of their few bombs.

yeah sadly it peaked at like #25 or something which is unfortunate but at least it remains a gem among us stans of their work!

Even lower, it peaked in 30s :rip:

Kesiha was desperate for Sugababes to keep reputation after line up change so I guess that's why ballad was released, and they hoped it would repeat success of CIAM.

Shame Gotta Be You wasn't released instead.

Was gonna say!! Didnt they have Gotta Be You in Taller in More Ways? After Red Dress they should have released it. Would have easily been another top 5 for them and then they could have pushed FMH as a fall single (albeit it would be the 5th single of the era so it would have still flopped but it would have had a better chance).

Yeah I recall Keisha wanting to establish that they could still do solid harmonies even without Mutya who was the vocal base / drone of their harmonies

Yes it was planned single since the beginning of the era which is why Amelle re-recorded it. But Kesha had final saying I guess because she was last founding member at the time. I'm sure Amelle wasn't that comfortable singing Mutya's verse dedicated to her daughter :suburban:

SCREAMING :ahh: Yeah Keisha's petty as$ deff did it for that lol

tbh Gotta Be You would have smashed in 2006...literally the sound of that time with Nelly Furtado scoring hit after hit with Loose and then they did the same mistake in 2007/2008 by not releasing Never Gonna Dance Again as the second or third single from Change. That was EASILY going to become a #1 for them in the UK especially with Call The Shots smashing that same year which that song sounds similar to.

And then there's the insane fact that they rejected Dontcha by PCD :skull: Imagine releasing Dontcha right after Push The button....that album would be 6x platinum instead of 3x platinum which is already amazing but it could have been such a bigger era too lol
