Why couldn't Tove Lo reach Robyn's level?

Swedish electropop Queens owning their labels, collaborating with top DJs, but only one of them is the darling of the critics.

Despite being a successful songwriter, why couldn't Tove Lo be as iconic as Robyn is?

Both make pop music and are Swedish, but the comparisons stop there

And Tove's brand is more sexual and "in your face" which can polarize critics, especially the misogynistic ones

Does Robyn really make pop music though? Wasn't she always R&B with pop elements?

I can hear the R&B influences in her early albums but since 2005 her music has been primarily dance-pop

At least she hit the ground running with the 1-2-3 punch of Habits, Talking Body and Cool Girl :clap3:

I didn't even know Tove Lo was Swedish before this thread was made. :mazen:I'm struggling to find reasons why they would be compared in the first place.

What a weird comparison. Let's stream HEAT and then Honey to somehow make up for it

Their music couldn't be more different...

Other than where they are from and them both being singer-songwriters who do make Dance/Electronic music sometimes, they are both so different and equally amazing.

Robyn has been around a little longer and Tove Lo is still newer.

Robyn is otherworldly

Tove Lo is very much a product of this world.

Both excellent tho

Habits (Stay High) and Talking Body were more global than any of Robyn's songs though

Robyn has hood classics, Tove Lo could never.
