prézli Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Swedish electropop Queens owning their labels, collaborating with top DJs, but only one of them is the darling of the critics. Despite being a successful songwriter, why couldn't Tove Lo be as iconic as Robyn is? 1 9 1
Popular Post HASHTAGPOW Posted October 17 Popular Post Posted October 17 Robyn has quit music. She works at IKEA now. I hate her. 16

Riverbank Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Both make pop music and are Swedish, but the comparisons stop there And Tove's brand is more sexual and "in your face" which can polarize critics, especially the misogynistic ones 7 2

Riverbank Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Just now, Josh said: Does Robyn really make pop music though? Wasn't she always R&B with pop elements? I can hear the R&B influences in her early albums but since 2005 her music has been primarily dance-pop 2

Alex Posted October 17 Posted October 17 the disco t*ts / hey you got drugs? / b*tches chanteuse not being accessible to critics and the GP? shocking! At least she hit the ground running with the 1-2-3 punch of Habits, Talking Body and Cool Girl 2
ChooseyLover Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I didn't even know Tove Lo was Swedish before this thread was made. I'm struggling to find reasons why they would be compared in the first place. 1
Kern Posted October 17 Posted October 17 What a weird comparison. Let's stream HEAT and then Honey to somehow make up for it 4 3
discosean Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Other than where they are from and them both being singer-songwriters who do make Dance/Electronic music sometimes, they are both so different and equally amazing. Robyn has been around a little longer and Tove Lo is still newer. 1
BrattyBottom Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Robyn is otherworldly Tove Lo is very much a product of this world. Both excellent tho 2
Pavement Princess Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Robyn is an OG, but Tove is a staple in my household. 1
Onyxmage Posted October 18 Posted October 18 (edited) Both of them have gone 10x platinum in my house and thats all that matters to me. Edited October 18 by Onyxmage 1 3
naval23 Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Habits (Stay High) and Talking Body were more global than any of Robyn's songs though
