Distantconstellation Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I came to atrl in the 2010s and I didn't find it that exciting like how some users always claim. How was it in the 2000s? 2
Popular Post Bloodflowers. Posted October 17 Popular Post Posted October 17 I don't know, but I imagine a lot of Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton and Jewel stans going after each other in 2003 15
itshyolee Posted October 17 Posted October 17 All I know is that the people on here were hella racist towards Bey… 4
Princess Aurora Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I'm wondering If they ever made Lindsay VS Hilary threads back then 1 2
Apolonio ₃₄ Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Where's that one ATRLer who's been here for like 24 years or something? I forgot their name. @Lee!! has been here since '04. @Ace Reject '03. I forgot if @Red was just a mod or admin but he was here since '01.
LittleCupid Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I only saw the archived threads people posted about but I specifically remember users being surprised that ATRL wasn't always an LGBT friendly forum and that older members were more bigoted. 2
Aethereal Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Many folks had very weak English. Even though I was not here (I was a kid then), but back in mid 2010 I saw some threads from late 00s and they were kinda like modern day stan twitter.

UnusualBoy Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I joined in late 2008 and it was the army vs beyhive lol since both girls released very close to each other.

How was it in the 2000s? IDK what ATRL you were browsing but 2010's ATRL was peak fun. The way the mods had to develop new rules and guidelines every other week because of the things being said on this forum. Stand Your Ground (SYG) was A TIME!! 1

MusicLoverDude Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I joined in late 2008. - Blogs were actually a thing back then. I had a lot of messy blogs given that I was a teen - No Holds Barred was also a thing. - The Games Section was a lot more active and casual. It wasn't just tournaments and album survivors like it basically is now - It was mainly Britney Army, Rih Fans, and Xtina with some Gaga fans starting to emerge plus Katy Kats. I miss that era tbh. But I also miss the late 2000s era of music.
KillingYourCareer Posted October 17 Posted October 17 I opened a thread a few years ago with archived posts from 2000s ATRL and it was full of heteros against gay marriage

I used TRL by Sarah for the TRL recaps then the two sites merged and then finally signed up for the forums. Then I used them mostly for new music discovery. We had our own chaos and insanity with members back then too! The mess always existed here lol 3 hours ago, Trash said: https://web.archive.org/web/20070607161248/http://www.atrl.net/ The earliest visiting option I get is June 7th 2007 You have to search the old domain absolutetrl.net iirc 3
imabadkid Posted October 17 Posted October 17 Really? I signed up in 2012 and for me ATRL was at its funniest during those years (2011/2012/2013). I remember reading some threads laughing with actual tears... the inside jokes alone would have me ROTFL. But to be fair, the internet is a diff place nowadays, like everyone wants to be on inside jokes, nothing is niche anymore but anyway, idk about the 2000s but ATRL in 2011/2012 was beyond top notch.
Alldeezy Posted October 18 Posted October 18 Honestly really fun, was a lot more active the servers didn't break every 5 minutes. Members there were iconic. Sadly I joined mid good girl gone bad & blackout era back In 2007. But hearing about lady Gaga and katy Perry on here for the first time was just a moment. YTT was super active too everyone actually updated it daily
lisavanderpump Posted October 19 Posted October 19 So crazy to think about how this website was around before I was even born and it still endures #TalentAlwaysWins 1

In the 2010s the army and the hive were at each other's throats. It was when Britney became a permanent convervatee and Beyonces solo career took off. The army hated the fact that Beyonce was known as a dancer when they considered her clumsy and un athletic compared to Britney. I gotta say though the army was very racist. They called Beyonce Bleach-once / Beype / Bey-hiv+ and would constantly post photos of bleach. People feared the East European Army.
like2throw Posted October 19 Posted October 19 (edited) It was fun, alot of threads geared around Xtina, Britney, Beyonce and Rihanna. Hip hop was pretty big back then too so you had your hip hop Stan's and you had your rock stans with MCR, Green Day and whatnot. Things kinda got flipped on its head when Gaga emerged though haha. Gaga pretty much caused a culture shift in 2008. Edited October 19 by like2throw 4
