Peroxide Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I don't really like telling people how to feel but I don't think anyone meant any malice by editing the poster to more closely resemble the original…? Love Cynthia to bits but this seems like an overreaction. Still… no less excited about the Wicked movie. I'll be buying tickets day 1. 10
CovalentBondage Posted October 16 Posted October 16 28 minutes ago, Dear Reader said: I just find it ironic that a lot of people criticize AI unless it's funny for them. She has every right to feel offended when they're trying to hide her face just because people like to be nostalgic and stick to "originals". This wasn't AI, someone made this on tiktok

Navyofbadgals Posted October 16 Posted October 16 She's valid on AI but that poster is literally not done by AI to say this is an attempt to erase her and not just an attempt by a fan to fully embody the original poster and what made that one so great.. just silly! 10
byzantium Posted October 16 Posted October 16 It's been a while since I have seen the musical but isn't the whole point to tell the story to dive into who the mysterious figure of the wicked witch of the west is? I feel like the design of the original poster for the play was to signal that there is something hidden about this person in the telling of the wizard of oz. You are missing her humanity and if you watch the play, you will get a different telling of events. it just seems a little extreme to say this is the "most offensive thing she has ever seen" 3
SoldierofLove Posted October 16 Posted October 16 (edited) If she went to the Lee Strasberg Institute method of acting she would've said, "Yes, my poonani is green. I wrote a letter to myself and said 'I don't need you anymore. I need only the parts of you that are meaningful to Elphaba.' And I feel like I put all the things that were myself in a cauldron like a witch and I dyed my pu**y green." Edited October 16 by SoldierofLove 10
Popular Post Megan Pete Posted October 16 Popular Post Posted October 16 30 minutes ago, Dear Reader said: Did you read what she wrote? She has a problem with her face being covered and the AI videos people are making and I find that plausible. She has no problem with the fact that it's AI. She shares AI edits and pictures herself: She just doesn't like the content of those specific memes and that's her right but she's acting like people have some ulterior motive or are trying to drag her. It's just a meme. Saying that people are covering her eyes because they want to erase her is peak pretentiousness 9 2 14
JoJo Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I understand why Cynthia is offended by it, but "is your ***** green?" is over ten years old. That's just a fandom joke. 3
Bussea Posted October 16 Posted October 16 i'm all for celebraties dragging people for the weirdo behavior. and of course ATRL is missing the point and trying to act as if it's not "that serious" and "there's people dying" but they sit on this site all day arguing over downvotes and people they don't know with accomplishments that will never see. 3 1 2
Burn Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I definitely thought the "is your ***** green" thing was weird and loads of YALL were laughing about it in that thread. 3
Dula Peep Posted October 16 Posted October 16 I get being upset about the use of AI to make it look like you're fighting with your costar but the poster thing is just dumb 1
Alyssa Edwards Posted October 16 Posted October 16 another one of those new singers that can't handle the slightest bit of pressure (if you could call it that) from stardom.
Album Leak Posted October 16 Posted October 16 '' to edit my face and to hide my eyes is to erase me, and that is just deeply hurtful '' like I'd definitely understand if this was a yASSSified edit and/or AI was used to recreate her likeness (and this could just be a simple edit with photoshop) but... omg get real issues, i ******* hate Hollywood so much you are all such whiny narcissistic babies 4
Lyrical. Posted October 16 Posted October 16 It's really disgusting that people are telling her how she should feel about how her own face is being edited. Then again, I should lower my expectations for ATRL. Of course the gays think she's "boring!1!" because she doesn't find their lame jokes funny. 1
Tylerbv Posted October 16 Posted October 16 34 minutes ago, xokuba said: Weren't these edits made to fully recreate the original animated poster? Nobody said anything about her... I get what she means, but the witch's eyes aren't visible on the original, just her grin This is my take too. I could see the "p***y green" and AI GIF edits being offensive or annoying, but someone tweaking the poster to make it look more like what the poster was attempting to homage… meh. 2
