Yog Posted October 15 Posted October 15 While it's no secret their last era "Gloria" era is seen as underperformance despite it being an RIAA Platinum eligible album, successful tour & receiving a #1 smash, with people are already counting them out despite pulling various hits & platinum albums throughout their career just because of an hatetrain... But I feel Sam smith is about to make a "resurgence", this account "samsmithcentral" is run by Sam's team posting about their BBC proms show where they performed their older music and the feedback is insane, people miss this Sam if they were to drop an album similar to their first two albums, I can see this upcoming album perform much better than "Gloria" tbh if the right cards are played.. 1

There are so many amazing songs, really looking forward to any new music from them edit: I need another Disclosure or Calvin Harris project (although CH music feels a bit tired). I don't think the song is bad, I wouldn't skip it, but I don't love it ! I know I also heard How Do You Sleep?, but I don't remember the song at all, so I can't give my opinion ! When I said their music is bad, I was mostly referring to their GP/HAC'd flavorless songs, like Not The Only One and Stay With Me, and the truly abject Unholy. But I don't know many of their songs, so maybe I would like some of these.

I wouldn't mind them releasing something similar in style and vibe to Eternal Sunshine tbh. The latest album and aesthetic though… hard pass. Sam can get the GP back if they release something that appeals to a wider audience.
