jakeisphat Posted October 13 Posted October 13 (edited) Who is more likely of the two actresses to win an Oscar? Each have been nominated 5+ times in their careers: Glenn Close Best Actress in a Supporting Role The World According to Garp (1983) The Big Chill (1984) The Natural (1985) Hillbilly Elegy (2021) Best Actress in a Leading Role Fatal Attraction (1988) Dangerous Liaisons (1989) Albert Nobbs (2012) The Wife (2019) Amy Adams Best Actress in a Supporting Role Junebug (2006) Doubt (2009) The Fighter (2011) The Master (2013) Vice (2019) Best Actress in a Leading Role American Hustle (2014) Edited October 13 by jakeisphat
Miracle Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Well, Amy Adams probably has more than 20-30 movies in her career to win the Oscar. Maybe 10 of those are Oscar-baity. Idk how many Glenn Close would have at her age, but presumably less than Amy. So Amy
Sazare Posted October 13 Posted October 13 I mean. Not to be blunt, but Amy (probably) has time on her side, given that Glenn is in her late 70s Although I could see Glenn winning a lifetime achievement award if that counts 1
Démodé Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Glenn will get an honorary before she passes and that's totally unfair cause her performances slay most of her peers' and more contemporary actresses'. Amy is also very very good, and she should have won for Arrival. 3

Lil' Oz Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Well, Glenn should have won for Fatal Attraction instead of Cher. If the Oscars were actually fair she would have 2 statues by now (for Fatal Attraction and Dangerous Liaisons (if you've never watched the film; her performance is one of the greatest I have ever seen)). OT: I think they are going to give Glenn an honorary award while I believe Amy will win one along the way sometime. 2

OnlyManInTheWorld Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Let's just pretend Glenn won for Fatal Attraction. Must be the biggest crime in Oscars history
Polgg48 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 i like glenn close's trailer more even it's so baity to the max, im okay if miss nightb**** actually get nom and win for a good surprise. rooting for both
Elusive Chanteuse Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Glenn because she deserved it for movies in the past. 1
Donquizote Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Love Glenn, but sadly I think Amy has higher chance to win Oscar.

Rid Of Me Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Amy just because she's younger. I feel like she could win an Oscar in supporting category in the end But Glenn deserves an Oscar much more than Amy. She's a chameleon, a phenomenal actress. Amy doesn't have the range and always serves the same old performance
ATRL Moderator supaspaz Posted October 14 ATRL Moderator Posted October 14 Cher can keep her Moonstruck Oscar, but Glenn really should have won for Dangerous Liaisons, an unforgettable performance, especially when Jodie Foster would win again a few years later for The Silence of the Lambs. 1
