Sounds delectable. I love a dense and moist pound cake.

Lots of stuff. One of the best things I made was a raspberry ripple cake with vanilla buttercream and a white chocolate drip over the top. Carrot, red velvet, chocolate cakes and victoria sponges are normally a pretty safe bet. I made a Boston cream pie the other day, which was amazing, I'd never had one before.

Also baked and no bake cheesecakes (with a biscuit base, never tried making the Basque version before). I think I prefer baked just because it's easier to get a smooth top and even filling.

Cookies and muffins normally turn out pretty well and don't really require any decoration. I love the big chunky new York style cookies.

Pastry can be very hit and miss for me. The pastry itself normally comes out well, but I've tried a lot of different tart recipes some of which haven't tasted so good (especially anything vegan and chocolate can be difficult to get the balance of sweetness vs richness).

You sound like an incredible baker. Have you ever tried or baked a tres leche cake?

I haven't no, but I've made similar genoise type sponge cakes (where you separate the eggs, beat them separately with other ingredients and then fold together). Definitely requires a bit more skill than a standard sponge since the mixing technique is super important, but as long as you don't rush it it should be ok.

I've used loads of recipes from this channel and they always explain everything very clearly, so I'd give this one a go:

Yes I heard the egg separating part is very important.

Thank you for the recommendation.

What do you think of tres leches cake? Does it sound sickly sweet?

I've tried lots of Claire Saffitz's recipes. Her key lime pie turns out great everytime.

I love baking but do it rarely since we are not supposed to eat sugar.

I made very delicious brownies in the past but not really anymore - gotta avoid the calories.

Many things. Banana bread, cookies, cake, pie, muffins. As long as I follow a recipe, I'm good.

It's not got lots of sugar in it tbh but I guess there's extra sweetness from the condensed milk, but that's diluted by the other two milks. I'd worry more about the sheer amount of milk being overbearing but apparently it works (and you don't have to use all the milk)

Coffee/espresso cheesecake with coffee whipped cream :WAP:

I love baking, but I haven't done it in a while

I hate baking :emofish: It works tho because I prefer savory foods over sweets and I love cooking. So really it's only breads (usually a whole wheat sandwich loaf) that I really bake.

I will say I've done key lime pies pretty well. But I usually just get a store-bought crust LOL which to be fair a couple times I made it for people who were gluten-free and I'm not gonna try to make a gluten-free crust from scratch.

a bit basic but i'm very good at making banana bread. the secret is to use oil instead of butter (or use high fat percentage butter). makes it incredibly moist :clap3:

Well received?

Baklava is the last baked good I made from scratch that turned out well. I have made boxed pumpking bread though, but I don't think that counts since it wasn't from scratch.
