Space Cowboy Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Both movies are being released on the same day and are seeing strong pre-sales (something that not everyone has). A R-Rated male-oriented action movie VS Family friendly female-oriented musical What movie do you think will be the more succesful? Are you planning a double feature?
Hector Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Wicked as it'll have the benefit of families of all ages wanting to see it more. I do see Gladiator II being a big money maker and having big shoes to follow a Best Picture Oscar winner from 2000.
AmericanIdol Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I cannot stand musicals but if its well done I'll watch it, hope it's not HORRIBLE & PANNED like Lady Gaga's Joker 2 movie. Gladiator 2 looks fun.
GAGAxMONSTER Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I loved the original Gladiator and I plan to watch it the very first day. I have no idea about what Wicked is tbh and that green person I've been seeing with Ariana is not very enticing. 1 1
Digitalism Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I think there's a big chance they both do horribly with the critics which would mean weak box office for both 1

Radical Pessimism Posted October 9 Posted October 9 (edited) The gay in me wants to see both movies for the music in Wicked and for the hot muscled men in Gladiator. It's a win-win situation. Edited October 9 by Radical Pessimism 1
AshleyLovescats887 Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I thought that the 'Five Nights At Freddy's" and Eras Tour were the Barbenheimer 2.0 tho this is barbenheimer 3.0

X~MoviePoP Posted October 9 Posted October 9 I feel like wicked will have a 60% on Rt and gladiator will have a 65%

Johnny Jacobs Posted October 9 Posted October 9 Ridley lost his touch a while back so i don't think G2 would do well. I can see wicked doing well. It can also serve a cats 2019 situation. None will have huge success. So no. It's not even close to being Barbenheimer 2.0

Mr. Duff Posted October 10 Posted October 10 (edited) Wicked may have good word of mouth, it's audience is much bigger since it's more family-friendly than R-rated Gladiator. But I'm sure Gladiator will do well, personally I'm anticipating G2 more but that's probably my cup of tea. I've seen the Wicked musical in New York and I fell asleep, I'm not their target audience Edited October 10 by Mr. Duff
